How is it already close to the end of November? Who has their gift shopping done? I've been done for a couple of weeks now.
Now, for what I've this past month. It hasn't been much, but the last book took a while since it was twelve parts of a story in one. Royal Catch Kylie Gilmore. Blurb: A gruff prince in need of a wife A commoner impersonating a princess And a bridal competition gone terribly awry… Gabriel I am the crown prince of Villroy, heir to a kingdom, bound by duty to marry and produce an heir. I expected a quiet arrangement through royal channels, instead I got a palace full of women vying for my hand. And how do they “win” this barbaric game set up by my crafty mother? By figuring out how to save the kingdom’s faltering economy through a series of challenges. This undignified circus is beneath a man of my stature! Proof being that a saucy, ill-mannered woman wearing body-hugging clothes is in the lead. I could never love someone like that, let alone marry her. Anna The plan sounded simple. I pose as my friend, pick up her inheritance, and return with the cash to keep her out of jail. (Apparently, being a princess in hiding is no excuse for identity theft.) So, yeah, I’m not exactly royal. I’m an orphan, a self-made woman, and proud of it. Suddenly I’m in a battle royale with a bunch of crazy competitive women for “riches beyond our dreams.” I’m in a time crunch, which means I need to win this competition fast. Only, that means winning over the judge; the smoldering hot grim-faced Gabriel. And now I find myself wanting to compete for more than just the money. But could a royal prince ever fall for a commoner like me? Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Almost Over It also by Kylie Gilmore. Blurb: When Jasmine Davis opens her new dance studio, she’s shocked to find she shares the building with Will Levi, aka the man she fought with all summer at the community theater. Will is rigid, uptight, and irritating, so why is she so turned on? Ex-bad boy Will has been living a life of penance ever since he crashed his car, nearly killing his brother. Jasmine is just one more reminder of the life he doesn’t deserve, but when one perfect kiss sets them on the slippery slope toward love, they both fear it will end with a crash. What do you do when the one person you can’t live with is the one person you can’t live without? Goodreads Amazon The Opposite of Wild by Kylie Gilmore. Blurb: Ex-cop Ryan O'Hare takes one look at buttoned-up control freak Liz Garner and just itches to loosen the woman up. Not that he’s into her. Because a woman like that comes with way too many expectations. Not to mention, she practically works for him, and he didn’t hire Liz to watch after his beloved Harley-stealing Gran so he could turn Liz loose in his bed. Still, there’s something about her, a hidden wild side, that makes him wonder what it would take. Liz must be crazy to work for the insensitive, arrogant, horribly… hot man she's avoided for years. Unfortunately, she needs the money and Ryan's grandmother needs a keeper. (Midnight tango lessons and ziplines with Gran, anyone?) Ryan's rare smile and swaggering confidence have Liz torn between throwing her favorite pinot grigio at his head or throwing herself at him. Can this control freak find a way to let loose with the tough, no-strings guy who once broke her heart? Goodreads Amazon Gray by Callie Rhodes. Blurb: Olivia’s superiors said they were sending her to the Boundarylands on a mission of discovery, but what they really wanted her for was bait. No woman willingly travels to the Boundarylands. It's where they are—the Alphas. They keep to themselves in the wilderness, and beta civilization knows to keep its distance. Especially beta women…for fear they may not be a beta after all. Olivia’s orders were simple. Travel to the Boundarylands, covertly observe an alpha specimen, and send back her data. Her superiors promised her every precaution. They promised she’d be safe. But they never told her she what they really needed her for was bait. And when the alpha they’d sent her to observe discovers the spy on his property, he’s determined to take his revenge…any way he wants. Goodreads Amazon The Soldier's E-Mail Order Bride by Cora Seton. Blurb: Staff Sergeant Austin Hall has a brilliant record in the Special Forces—except for one disastrous decision that cost his best friend’s life. Now he’s heading home to Chance Creek, Montana, where he’d like to spend the rest of his days in the obscurity of his family’s ranch. Too bad Great Aunt Heloise won’t hand the ranch over unless all four of the Hall brothers marry and one of them produces an heir within the year. Austin is too broken to marry for love, so he places an online ad for a fake wife. What could possibly go wrong? Ella needs to leave Hollywood—fast. It’s bad enough another actress stole her fiancé—on national television. Now she’s ruined her comeback by decking her ex on a morning talk show. Pursued by paparazzi, Ella needs a new life, a new name and someplace to hide. When she reads Austin’s ad for a stand-in wife, she knows she can act this part perfectly. To the rest of the residents of Chance Creek, they’ll be a happily married couple. In private, they’ll just be roommates. In a year when she’d old news and the Hall brothers secure the ranch, she and Austin will quietly divorce and she’ll go on her way. Or will she? Austin’s already finding it hard to remember his promise never to love again. Ella’s finding it hard to keep her hands to herself. But when they’re asked to make a back-up baby, Ella realizes she may have stepped into a lifetime role. Can this pretend marriage go the distance? Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Heartbreaker by Lizabeth Scott. Blurb: ELIAS Creating dream homes, That’s what I do. As the country’s #1 home renovator, I'm in high demand. And when I encounter, April, I know something’s off, Nobody wants that crap property, Unless they’re looking for something more, Something free. And I refuse to get burned again. It's happened one time too many. But something about her, The way she gives, Devotes everything to everyone else, Makes me second-guess myself. After one touch, I’m sold, Ready to build something, With her, For us, Forever. Goodreads Amazon Colton by Grace Brennan. Blurb: The mafia. Severed body parts. Fearing for her life. Those are just a few of the things Katia Evans never thought she’d see in her ordinary, boring life, but suddenly they’re her new reality. And now there’s a sexy cowboy sweeping her off her feet and riding her off into the sunset—well, he’s whisking her away to safety, but since her life is turning into a movie, she’s saving her sanity by pretending it’s a romance rather than horror. Her fantasy is much better than reality, after all. Colton Alexander dropped out of Enforcer training years ago, vowing to never use his new skills. All he wants is a simple life in Montana, and he has it—until his cousin disappears. His search leads him to Katia just as danger begins stalking her, and he burns with the need to keep her safe. As they race to solve the mystery before it’s too late, they forge a deep connection. One Colton desperately wants to keep. Katia is falling for the cowboy hellbent on protecting her—but is it real, or just a part of her fantasy? And Colton is at a crossroads—does he keep playing Enforcer as he hunts for his family, risking his future with Katia? Or does he focus on the woman who’s already claimed his heart, risking his cousin? It’s an impossible choice, but it’s one he has to make, or he risks losing them both. Goodreads Amazon And last but not least, because it was my favorite read for November, The Immortality Trails by Eliza Raine. Blurb: What if Hercules wasn’t the hero we all thought he was? His daughter, Lyssa, knows just how cruel he can be. But she has left that life behind and now her battered smugglers ship, the Alastor, flies under everyone’s radar - just how she likes it. The Gods have a different plan for her though. They’re about to break one of their only rules and grant a worthy hero a chance to win the ultimate prize – immortality. And Lyssa and Hercules are two of the lucky heroes offered the chance to compete. Twelve gods, twelve realms, twelve trials. And for Lyssa, they’re about so much more than an eternal life. They’re about facing the monster from her past and stopping him from becoming truly untouchable. She never wanted to let the world know that she inherited some of her father’s immense power. But maybe it’s time to show them all. Goodreads Amazon That's all I have for you this month! x Brooke
