Wow, I read a lot this week!
I started the end of last week with Blue Collar Bad Boys. I couldn't decide on what to read next so I asked my mom. She wasn't thrilled to know she picked some hot and dirty instalove, bred stories. Blurb: Four books in one! These guys are real men to the core: virile, a little primal, and good with their hands. But when these hunky, strapping heroes fall for the loves of their lives, we discover they have ooey gooey marshmallow hearts. It's the best combination, right? The bigger they are, the harder they fall...and the Blue Collar Bad Boys in this bundle are a testament to that. Get four books in one for a delicious price and watch as the bouncer, the carpenter, the oil rigger, and the tow truck driver find a forever kind of love with women who are quirky, a little nerdy, and a lot adorable. Women just like you and me. You won't miss billionaire heroes once you spend some time with these real men. Your book boyfriend is in here. Go get him. Included in this Box Set are: Bounced Nailed Drilled Wrecked Goodreads Amazon Next was Fallen Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan. I always enjoy her stories and this one was a great friends to lovers book. Blurb: The Montgomery Ink series continues with a spin-off in Colorado Springs, where a familiar Montgomery finds her place in a new tattoo shop, and in the arms of her best friend. Adrienne Montgomery is finally living her dreams. She’s opened a tattoo shop with her brother, Shep, and two of her cousins from Denver and she’s ready to take the city by storm with her art—as long as she can handle the pressure. When her new neighbors decide her shop isn’t a great fit for the community, however, she’ll have to lean on the one person she didn’t expect to fall for along the way…her best friend. Mace Knight takes pride in two things: his art and his daughter. He knows he’s taking a risk by starting over in a new shop with the Montgomerys, but the stakes are even higher when he finds himself wanting Adrienne more than he thought possible. The two fall fast and hard but they know the rules; they can’t risk their friendship, no matter how hot it is between the sheets and how many people try to stand in their way. Goodreads Amazon Sea of Scars by Frances Paul gutted me. That's all I'll say. Blurb: I lost everything. My job. My family. My life…my sanity. How does a man come back from that? How do you right so many wrongs when the choices you’ve made caused those around you so much pain? My determination to prove I was strong enough and that my mind and spirit was unbreakable, tore my family apart. By refusing to accept the help I so desperately needed, I caused irreparable damage to the people I loved the most. After everything I’ve done I didn’t think life would give me a second chance. But then I met Courtney. A beautiful woman with a troubled past, and scars that mirror my own. A woman who somehow manages to breathe new life into my soul. Now I can’t help but hope that this might be my chance to make things right. Goodreads Amazon You know that I love Outlander. I came across Almost Jamie by Gina Robinson. It's different with modern similarities to the amazing series. It's only book one of four, which I wasn't thrilled about. Blurb: A kilt meets dress modern love story. If you like good guy geek heroes who look hot in kilts, strong, intelligent heroines, and poignant romance, then you’ll love Almost Jamie, the first book in Gina Robinson’s light, fun contemporary romance Jet City Kilt Series. Half American, half English physician Blair Edwards has always wanted her Jamie, the Sinclair, the dashing Highland laird of the wildly popular TV series, Jamie. Unfortunately, it's so hard to find a man like him in the modern world. When the stars of Jamie come to Seattle's Jet City Comicon, Blair dresses up as Jamie's Elinor in a vibrant red gown, hoping to get a seat in their popular presentation and a good view of the handsome, charming star of the show. She doesn't expect to be called on to use her medical skills to treat an injured cosplayer who looks almost like…Jamie. And sets her wounded heart racing. Cosplayer, geek, app designer, and cyber security expert Austin MacDougall has been styled by his matchmaker to look like the actor who plays Jamie. He's been trying to win the prize for best amateur cosplayer for years. Against the advice of his friends, he goes to Jet City Comicon in a kilt as Jamie, the striking redheaded Highlander. When he's injured during a mock battle with a vicious cosplaying orc, his friends get him help from a beautiful doctor in a stunning red dress. Has Austin met his Elinor? The adventure is just beginning… Goodreads Amazon

Happy Friday!
I only have two book for you today. I was hoping to make it three, but I'm still finishing up King of the Causeway by T.M. Frazier. BUT from what I've read so far, it's brilliant! Anyway, let's get started. First off, I have Biker with Benefits by Mickey Miller for you. The last, but hopefully not the last of the Blackwell After Dark series. Quick, intense, hot, and to-do sweet, I devoured this book and was letting satisfied. I've enjoyed the Blackwell after dark series and hope to see more. Blurb: A sexy biker. A hot midnight encounter. One ride together that changes everything. Jax Reid is everything I should be afraid of--and everything I crave. My skin tingled from the first moment I saw him. Temptingly handsome, dangerous, and with a darkness behind his eyes. He was scarred. So was I. His past is complicated. Dark. So is mine. When my family stopped believing in me, he never stopped for one second. He’s stolen my heart. I’m feeling things I never thought I’d feel with a man like him. Vulnerable pleasure. Hope. And contentment. The only question left is, will this be forever? Or just an adventure. Either way, Jax is going to take me for one hell of a ride. And our adventure has a twist I wouldn’t have seen coming in a million years. Biker with Benefits is a steamy standalone contemporary romance with a surprise ending! It is the fifth book in Mickey's Blackwell series, and can be read as a standalone apart from the other books which are in the same world. Goodreads Amazon My second read from this week was Unconscious Hearts by Harper Sloan. I love this author! I've devoured almost all of her books and I did the same with this one. Knock your socks off type of read. You start reading thinking You are getting one story and five into a world that is so much more. The power of moving forward in life to embrace love left me in tears with all the feelings I had rushing through me. Blurb: Ari Daniels didn’t count on her whole world tumbling down around her in a mess of shredded promises, broken love, and unbelievable heartbreak. Alone and stricken with grief, she shouldered the blame and eventually closed her heart off, refusing to open it for another. After all, anytime she tried, guilt and regret were waiting in the wings to remind her how painful it was. A bet and one steamy night with a stranger force Ari to confront all she’s been hiding behind. She tries to move on, but he refuses to stand down, wanting what she is terrified to give—herself. This man may very well destroy her in the end, especially when it’s clear he has his own demons. What happens when two broken souls come together, finally allowing themselves to believe in the beauty of love … only to have to fight harder than ever to keep it? Goodreads Amazon Both of these books are on Kindle Unlimited. I hope you have a great weekend. x Brooke Okay, maybe teachers aren't shouting from the rooftops about kids going back to school, but I certainly am. Don't get me wrong, I had fun with my kids over break but I was ready for them to go back. This morning wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be and I still managed to get a walk in with Timber.
But now I can get back to my writing. No more interruptions of "I'm hungry." At least until next Friday when they are out again. Our weekend was fun, my oldest got Mario Kart 8 and we did a family game night. Let's just say all our faces were hurting after all the laughter. I made a decision last week as well. I was only planning on three releases this year. Well, I'm doing four now. I will have another cupid book coming the week before Christmas. And yes, it will be Christmas themed. That's all I have for the week. Until Friday. x Brooke Happy New Year! I kicked off the year with three books that had me forgetting to adult just so I could read.
Boss with Benefits by Mickey Miller is hot, one of a kind office romance book had my blood thundering and the need to devour the pages as badly as the characters wanted to consume each other. Blurb: What if every fantasy you wrote about your boss came true? Sebastian Blackwell isn't only the sexiest man I've ever met. He's also my boss. The way our every interaction is laced with with sexual energy makes my already difficult job that much harder. He turns me on so much, I constantly fantasize about him. To the point where I find myself writing at work about what would happen if we had an affair. It's not a big deal, I swear. This is meant to stay at the purely fantasy level. Until he finds it. The cocky bastard sees every word I wrote. He keeps calling me into his office. Toying with me. Every single fantasy I write about in my book... Sebastian makes come true. This is supposed to be a purely 'with benefits' situation. But this story has an ending even I didn't see coming. Goodreads Amazon I finished up the Bro Code books by Rachel Van Dyken. Each is a standalone with a bigger message in them that I absolutely love. Avoiding Temptation is a laugh out loud hilarious read. All the Bro Code books bring something different to the table. Avoiding Temptation is my favorite of the series so far for the humor. Blurb: I hit on her first. Realized she was my best friend Finn's little sister second. And got a bloody nose third — compliments of Finn after he watched me nearly score with the new underclassman. After all I did have a reputation on campus, word on the street was that a girl could orgasm within one minute just watching me eat Lucky Charms. You can't make this stuff up — even though it was at least four minutes and included outside circumstances. Ahem, I digress. Point is, not only did I earn the attention of the worst sort of girl for me — my best friend's only sibling — but now she's out to seduce me. Me! One of the most famous Pleasure Ponies of them all! I can't shower — she follows me to the bathroom. Literally. I can't sleep — Lucky me, she lives in the same dorm. And I can't focus on anything except for her taunting eyes every single time something goes her way. I want her, but I don't want her to know I want her, and I definitely don't want to die before graduation, which is looking more and more likely considering we can't keep our hands off each other. Something's gotta give, and I have an inkling I should probably start writing my eulogy now because that something is probably going to be me. Goodreads Amazon And my last read for the week is The Setup. The last book in the Bro Code series. Great wrap up to this standalone series.plenty to laugh about and even more of fall in love with, it's a non-stop kind of book. There is also an appearance of a certain wild 92 year old woman in it. Blurb: The first day she was sitting by herself — I felt sorry for her. After all, it couldn't be easy wrangling all the testosterone at Wingman Inc as one of the only female office managers. The second day she literally counted her carrots during break — she had seven by the way, right along with seven sips of her drink in between taking seven tiny little bites of the first carrot. Now I'm not one to brag, or maybe I am, but math and science fascinate me, so do problems. And this woman screamed puzzle from the way she ducked her head every time anyone looked at her, to the way she counted food and tapped the table when she didn't think anyone was watching. I'd like to think I took pity on her that day when, in fact, she was the one that took pity on me and asked if I needed a friend. She assumed I had a learning disability since I'd been staring so damn hard. Things would have ended there, except, my bosses need someone to test the new Wingman App and since I was the only single guy on the floor — I was nominated, right along with the only single woman, the same one who thinks I need to use my fingers to count. Apparently rumors of my sexcapades throughout college reached even her ears, because she wants nothing to do with me, which makes beta testing a bitch. I have thirty days to win her over and prove myself to my bosses. One thing's for certain, I'm going to have to buy a hell of a lot of carrots. Goodreads Amazon Until Monday, have a great weekend! x Brooke |
