To make up for the last couple of weeks I have four books for you! The Road to Garrett by Suzie O'Connell, Lost Rider by Harper Sloan, Kase of Deception by Riann C. Miller, and Perversion by T.M. Frazier. The Road to Garrett by Suzie O'Connell was a sweet story based in my home state. I felt that the author knew the setting incredibly well and this story was a sweet one. Blurb: Annemarie Garrett had a clear plan for her future. Getting pregnant at eighteen by a man twice her age wasn't part of it. Shifting directions at the unexpected fork in the road, she moves across Wyoming to secure a future for her son from the wealthy rancher who fathered him. But a gift of five hundred acres unwillingly given isn't the boon it seems. Annemarie knows nothing about ranching, and this barren tract of land is just a stone's throw from a man and his family who hate her and everything she represents. With six older brothers ahead of him in line for his family's ranch, Gabriel Collins knew from a young age that he'd have to find his own way in the world. Now he's a master electrician with a successful business. Something is missing, however, and when Ms. Garrett calls in desperate need of his expertise, he finds out exactly what. The indomitable young mother, her adorable little boy, and their struggle to turn Garrett Ranch from a money pit into a profitable operation might just be the family and the cause he didn't know he was searching for. I am a huge Harper Sloan fan so when I found the series sitting at Barnes and Noble in Billings, Montana, I snatched them up! Blurb: Maverick Austin Davis is forced to return home after a ten-year career as a rodeo star. After one too many head injuries, he’s off the circuit and in the horse farming business, something he’s never taken much of a shine to, but now that it’s his late father’s legacy, familial duty calls. How will Maverick find his way after the only dream he ever had for himself is over? Enter Leighton Elizabeth James, an ugly duckling turned beauty from Maverick’s childhood—his younger sister’s best friend, to be exact, and someone whose heart he stomped all over when she confessed her crush to him ten years back. Now Leighton is back in Maverick’s life, no longer the insecure, love-stricken teen—and Maverick can’t help but take notice. Sparks fly between them, but will Leighton be able to open her heart to the one man who broke it all those years ago? Links: Goodreads Barnes & Noble Kobo Amazon I have a new release for you as well! Riann C.Miller has a new release, Kase of Deception and let me tell you, you will be doing your best to try to figure it all out. Blurb: I had everything I needed, except freedom from my past—a past that suddenly feels like a ruse, ready to ruin everything I’ve worked for. No matter the consequences, I’m determined to remove the chains binding me to my biggest regret. I heard the warnings; I just didn’t give a damn, because casualties of war are to be expected. But I never counted on meeting her. One look, one taste, one night, and I discovered my mission is about to destroy my future. Be careful what you wish for…> Links: Goodreads Amazon The last read I have for you this week is Perversion by T.M. Frazier. It's her newest release and it has me hooked once more!
Blurb: USA Today bestselling author of the King Series, T.M. Frazier, brings you an all-new trilogy with a sexy anti-hero you're going to love to hate, and a ballsy heroine with more up her sleeve than just tricks. Love is supposed to be a fairy tale. Ours is a death wish. I'm the executioner for the Bedlam Brotherhood. She's a con artist working for my greatest enemy. I use her. She manipulates me. We find ourselves on opposite sides of a bloody war. My heart and head tell me I have to stay away. My lust for her doesn't give a sh*t. Nothings fair in love and gang war. We are getting closer to the arrival of my werewolves!
I'm returning to my home state with this new series. My werewolves aren't shifters, but real monsters who are anything but. Start the journey with the pack in A Second Chance! Blurb: ͋Powder River Pack: Book One: A Second Chance ͋ Life isn’t all sunshine and love like they tell you as a child. Life is about pain and sometimes love doesn’t stand the test of time. Member of the Powder River Pack, werewolf Derek Sumerland had found his one true mate after tragedy struck at an early age. Annabelle Daniels was his everything until she wasn’t. And now he lives his life with the daily reminder of the fact he didn’t fight for her or go after her when he should have. His heart is wrecked; his chest is forever in a vice and yet, he somehow finds a way to go on with his so called life. Annabelle left her past with a broken heart. She did her best to never look back until her estranged father began to edge closer to his death bed. Even with thoughts of Derek, it is guilt that pushes her back to Fetterman, Wyoming. She didn’t expect to see him and certainly didn’t expect to find a handsome, angry man where the young man she loved stood. He wasn’t lying when he said she was the one. Annabelle must decide between the love of her life and the life she has worked hard to achieve. Can they have a second chance? Add to your TBR Signup It's Monday again and you know what that means!
Another Mancrush Monday! Today I discovered that the delicious Jason Mamoa has played a werewolf! I had no clue but I'm most certainly going to go search for this movie now. I've been quiet lately, tends to happen when I get into my writing. I finished up the rough draft of Bottoming Out last week and now I'm starting the rough draft to She's No Cowgirl, My Cowboy #5, Hunter's story. Writing is coming far more frequently than the summer since the kiddos are back in school. I'm currently working on my 2020 releases. I've always done several drafts of my books before I let my betas or editor have them. So the one I have done and the one I'm currently working on will be revisited sometime next year. As for 2019 releases, I have them all scheduled with my wonderful editor. Back in the Ring, The Predator #4, will be coming in February. My untitled Cupid book will be out in June. And Courage, The Code of Honor Series book one, will be out late next year. I'm really excited for all of you to get all my new books, but I'm pretty thrilled for the new stuff I have coming to you starting in November with A Second Chance. Wait until you see the cover. I'm head over heels for it. In other news, I painted my bathroom this weekend, it took me all day Saturday but it looks amazing and Sunday we had a lazy day of house cleaning and donut making that turned out tasting like Febreeze. Yeah, next time my aunt who is obsessed with spraying her house down with new bags of powdered sugar I'm going to decline. The boys could taste it in my chocolate glaze but I managed to save the maple. That means Dad gets the chocolate. LOL! That's about it for today. X Brooke Fall is most definitely in the air on this Monday morning. So why not heat things up a bit with Alcide? I working to find all the werewolves I can for the next several mancrush Mondays. I thought we should start with my favorite.
With the change in the air, bringing a chill that means I will be trading my shorts for pants and fuzzy socks I am wrapping up Bottoming Out. Jax's story has been fun and it is bittersweet to write the ending this week but I'm ready to work on releases closer to now. Happy Teaser Tuesday everyone!
I thought instead of showing a new teaser I would share the first page of Bottoming Out. As some of you are aware, I am working on Jax's story in the Moto X Universe. Jax is the roommate and best friend to Axle Ryan. Please be aware that this is subject to changes and edits. This is from the rough draft. (c) 2018, Brooke May Six foot tall of pure packed muscle, I worked endlessly on to keep for the ladies went down the goddamn drain all because of one single accident. A one-time deal turned into a life altering experience. Life was going great; I was on top of the fucking world and nearly the best in the world of motocross racing. I was traveling all over the world, going to every race that I could, and it all changed in my first major race in Australia. Everything I wanted was mine. Fame in the moto world. Money to do what I wanted; partying, buying shit, and whatever else I could think of. And I had plenty of women. When I wanted one, I got one. I never lacked in female companionship. All I had to do is look at one, grin, and she or more would be mine for the evening. All that has changed now. One muddy track was nothing to me. I could handle it with the best of them and I was. Trailing behind two Australian racers, I was slowly gaining on them until I was on top of them. Literally. In the seconds that the rookie driver crashed my friend, Axle Ryan, I was unable to alter anything that would have prevented me from running into them and causing a pile up. And a pile up is exactly what ended up happening. I went from the top of the pile, like I did with being on top of the world, to the bottom in both ways. The scent of exhausts, oil, and a mixture of wet earth and metal flittered through my senses as I drifted in and out of consciousness. The sound of bikes abruptly coming to a smashing stop over me was like thousands of sticks of dynamites going off right next to my head that jerked me back to a semi-awake state only to slip back into the inky darkness as my eyes fluttered closed. Man Crush Monday today is brought to you by another good looking cowboy! Starting next week I will have werewolves. ;) I'm continuing my work on Bottoming Out, I'm close to finishing it. It has been fun as well as difficult because I have to always keep in mind that Jax lacks the ability to walk, but I have found inventive ways of describing his movements. My next project will be the next book in the My Cowboy series. I started working through the kids and Hunter is next on my list. In other news, I managed to can for the first time yesterday! And I didn't have a pressure cooker, but with two phone calls and taking my time I figured it out. I think I'm addicted now because I'm trying to think of other things I can can.
I also made some banana bread for my husband and sons while I got my table figured out for next weekend. If you are a local, I will be out Soldier Creek on Saturday at a craft sale with my books. |
