Oh boy! I've got quite the list for you but good news, most of them are in series. I'll try to make this short and sweet for you.
Starting off the year, I tried out a series called Power by Jagger Cole. These were a first from this author for me and not my cup of tea. Tyrant Outlaw Warlord Amazon Next was a rom-com series from another new to me author Objects of Attraction by Penelope Bloom. They were laugh out loud funny at times. His Banana Her Cherry His Treat His Package Her Secret Her Bush Amazon 2021 was starting to look like a year of news for me. I started the Black Claw Ranch by Cecilia Lane. If you know how I feel about cowboy romances, you'll be surprised that I enjoyed this one with a bear shifter twist. I plan on finishing the series soon. Wrangled Fate Amazon Eliza Raine and Rose Wilson aren't new to me, I found them last year and I've waited with anticipation for this book. The Savage God Amazon Still with me? I'm almost done. This next book is part of a series, which I might go back and read the others by A.K. Macbride. Shattered Amazon The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob by Pippa Grant was hysterical, but also felt like it drug on at times for me. The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob Amazon Mimi Jean Pamfiloff's King Series is what brought me into her written worlds and to this day, still one of my favorite series. This new one by her was a wonderful start to something new. The Dead King Amazon Barnes and Noble We're at the end now! Last year, I started the Rogue Enforcers series and now I'm binge reading the rest of them. Maxwell Marcel Rhys Paxton Amazon Okay, we made it to the end! Of course, I still have three reading days for the month but I think there's plenty for you to pick from. As always, I hope you find something to read in my list. x Brooke

The creative blood is flowing through me this Monday morning! I managed to figure out two outlines, one to a book that I've been fighting with for the past couple of months and a second in a series I will be introducing later this year. SO! I'm writing both because my goal is to have these two and one more (maybe two) written before summer break. I can do this! During the summer, I always dedicate more time to my kids since I work nights and just do second drafts of the books coming out the next year. That way I have more time to do something fun with my kids.
This Friday I'll be putting together my January "What Brooke Read" so be on the lookout! I better get my butt in gear if I want to accomplish writing two books! Have a wonderful week. x Brooke This weekend we were finally able to get up the mountain to have some sledding fun. Wyoming usually has a ton of snow by now. There's nothing on the plains and foothills and only a little on the mountain. Don't let the picture fool you, those little trees are usually covered by now and so is the fence. There was enough for us to sled for a few hours before falling snow and wind blew us back down home. It was fun even though my oldest forgot his boots and had to wear mine only to destory them.
Now, as it snows down here finally and hopefully enough to stick for a while, I'm gearing up for my final week with my current WIP. I hope you have a wonderful week. x Brooke Did the heading get your attention? You're probably wondering how it is that I came to this conclusion when it's obvious mouthwash isn't meant for the nose.
Well, I hope this is as entertaining to you as it was with the males in my family. I have a sensitivity when it comes to my neck. I don't like it being touched. WELL ... the husband and oldest find it funny to try and get me when I'm in the process of gargling. I know, assholes, right? Last night, I was in the process and had covered my neck with my hands like usual when out of the corner of my eye, the husband struck like a cobra. He didn't even make it to me neck when I reacted, snorted up some on accident and spewed all over the bathroom sink basin. It burned and the asshole laughed! The kids joined in and the only one to leave me alone was Timber. If you didn't laugh, thank you for not finding joy in my pain. If you did, I still love you. Now I'm plotting against them while they're either at work or school and I have the house to myself. Wednesday, I'll be at the halfway point of this manuscript and so far, I'm liking it a whole lot better. That's all for me this week. x Brooke No picture today. We were going to go sledding but never made it up the mountain, so I have no pretty landscape to share today. Maybe in a couple of weeks.
I'm curious though, how is 2021 starting for you? We're four days in and so far, so good for me. I've managed to keep sugar at bay but now the real test has just begun. I'm home alone. Having no one around might make it difficult but I'm going to do my best, because like Yoda says, there is no try. I'm working on my current pain in the butt ... I mean WIP. Third time should be a charm for it. Wish me luck. That's all from me. Have a great week. x Brooke Happy New Year! Who's ready to see what 2021 has in store for us? I don't usually believe in nor do resolutions. They say you should wait to an important date like your birthday to make a major change in your life, but I can't wait three more months. Starting today, no more sugar! No more chocolate, candy, or baked goods for this momma. I've set a goal I'm hoping to reach by the end of July and then maintain it.
Now, onto my yearly recap of all the wonderful books I've read this past year. I should have done a December one on Christmas day but took the week off to be with family. Okay, let's go back to January 2020 with Fallen Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan. I love Carrie Ann's work, ink or shifters, I enjoy each of her stories. Amazon Barnes and Noble Goodreads In February I discovered Meghan March's world of Ruthless King. I had to pick up the other two after finishing the first. Amazon Barnes and Noble Goodreads March I was told about the start of a great series with the four horsemen as the focus. Pestilence was good but War by Laura Thlassa was an entirely different story for me. Amazon Goodreads April, while adjusting to kids doing remote learning, came a rebel in The Rebel of Raleigh High by Callie Hart was a great trilogy. Amazon Goodreads May, I saw the return of one of my friends to the author world and it was a powerful return. There's so much in Loved and Whiskey by Allie Able that I'm still thinking about it. Amazon Goodreads I know a lot of people already read Amy Daws' Wait with Me when she first released and made the news, but she was a new-to-me author in June. Amazon Goodreads Okay, I'm looking back at some of these books and thinking "No way, it wasn't months ago that I read them!" It's crazy looking at time through the books I've read because some feel like yesterday. July introduced me to Callie Rhodes' Omegaverse world with Kian. I'm listening to the latest right now! Amazon Goodreads August brought Brutus by one of my favorites, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This series keeps building and Brutus is my favorite so far! Amazon Barnes and Noble Goodreads September I dove into Corinne Michaels' Say You'll Stay. If you know me, you know I'm not a huge fan of country/cowboy romances because I tend to be picky. I loved this book! Amazon Barnes and Noble Goodreads October started my current need for books inspired by Greek mythology. The Power of Hades by Eliza Raine was so good! I'm waiting on the newest of her Ares trail book now. Amazon Goodreads November, we're almost to the end. I was introduced to Kylie Gilmore when she co-wrote a book, Fanged Love, with Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and had to get a feel of her books. Royal Catch had me hooked! Amazon Barnes and Noble Goodreads Yay! We made it to December. I went back to more Greek mythology inspired books with Asterion by Alessa Thorn. I just finished the final book yesterday. It was a great series that you have to read in order. Amazon Goodreads And that's all folks! I hope you found something interesting to you from my posts throughout the year and maybe reminded you of one with this. I'll be back at the end of the month with January's list. In my own book news, I have three coming this year! Scorching Hot Mess, my very first standalone in March. Code of Honor Series continues with Taking Flight in July. And last but not least is The Mating Call, the first of a new shifter series coming October! I hope you have a wonderful start to this new year and that it continues through the months to come. x Brooke |
