He looks as cold as I do after going for my morning walk. I may not be in Montana where record snows hit over the weekend but it didn't mean the cold didn't stop from striking. And like every cold season, I'm the one under all the blankets shivering while the husband and boys are perfectly content.
I took an easy indoor weekend with the boys since it was crappy out and played Minecraft. I never thought it would get into it like I have but surviving a world with my boys is a blast! Now, with the boys back to school, the husband at work for now before hunting season takes him away, I'm getting back into writing for the week with mountain lion shifters! Like Minecraft, I love world building. It will be a couple of years before I share the Long Claw Pride with anyone but I'm enjoying it! Have a wonderful week! x Brooke

This is out and I'm diving in! If you haven't noticed, Mimi Jean is one of my all-time favorite authors. I love everything she writes and can't wait to sink my eyes into this one. Blurb: Dear Mr. Merrick, I quit. And since you’re obsessed with your stupid pen collection, I thought it appropriate to take the big one you love so much and write my resignation letter. Kiss your pen goodbye, big man! Because when I agreed to work for you—a hotshot journalist I’ve admired for years—no one told me that you had a secret life and that you’d bug my apartment, have someone killed, and make the moves on me just to test whether I’m serious about this job. I mean, come on! What kind of boss does that? Yes, you’re ten degrees hotter than the sun, and you melt panties everywhere you go, but this “little intern” is done with your games. From this day forward, consider me your mortal enemy, your biggest threat. Maybe your pen is huge, but my determination is bigger. See you on the battlefield, Mr. Big Pen. Your ex-admirer, Gisselle Walters I finished this yesterday. I give it a 5 Star rating. Here is my review: This witty page turner is an excellent read if you want humor, intrigue, a little feuding, and a whole lot of steam. Hooked from the beginning, I couldn't put it down until I had all the answers. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Who doesn't love Jamie Fraser?
As nice as the actor is, I prefer the book Jamie more. Speaking of the books, I'm almost done! I finished The Fiery Cross last night and moved onto the sixth book. I can't wait to see how it wraps up but at the same time, I could get lost in this world forever. Outlander has distracted me in a wonderful irritating way so much so that I'm struggling to write at the moment. And I really want to enjoy this story I'm submerging myself into. Fall is now hitting Wyoming and I wish I could take all the beautiful colors I see and show y'all but the camera never does it justice. At least, mine doesn't. Hunting season is nearly upon us and my husband and I will be busy bringing home meat for our family for the next year. This week wraps up the final games of my son's regular season of football before playoffs begin next week. I'm missing the heat on my back while watching him play but I'll freeze for him any day. I hope you have a wonderful week! x Brooke Okay, I haven't read this one yet, but it is waiting on my kindle for me once I finish Outlander. I'm getting closer with that. I know this is going to be a great read, all of the Winston Brothers books have been and I can't wait to dive into this one.
Blurb: Nobody speaks to Scarlet St. Claire. Scarlet smells. Scarlet is dirty. The kids at school are also pretty sure she’s been wearing those same jeans for the last two weeks. Though kids at school are pretty sure Scarlet has been tent sleeping in the Great Smoky Mountains behind the old Oliver place, no one will say a word to her about it. . . except maybe Cletus. But Cletus doesn’t give two woodpecker poos what people think. He's just as weird as Scarlet St. Claire. Cletus is nothing like his older brother Billy Winston. Star quarterback, straight-A student, hard-worker, Billy has saved the Winston family from disgrace time and time again. Billy makes no mistakes. Billy is perfect. Everybody speaks to Billy Winston. ***** Everybody speaks to Billy Winston. Billy makes no mistakes. Billy is perfect. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble I don't know about you, but I needed a little Thor today. This week begins with me paying for school pictures and wrapping up an outline for my next WIP, The Mating Call.
The weekend was humdrum but I got baby cuddles from my niece and family time. I don't have much to share this week, so I'll leave you to Friday. Have a great week. x Brooke Okay, it's obvious, I'm completely taken with this series. I finished the fourth book, Drum of Autumn this week and couldn't wait to dive into the next.
There's romance in this adventure and life story and I find so compelling that it gives me a wonderful break from reality. I'm going to be sad when I finish these books up. If you are willing to read long books, I highly recommend the Outlander books. Blurb: What if you knew someone you loved was going to die? What if you thought you could save them? How much would you risk to try? Claire Randall has gone to find Jamie Fraser, the man she loved more than life, and has left half her heart behind with their daughter, Brianna. Claire gave up Jamie to save Brianna, and now Bree has sent her mother back to the Scottish warrior who was willing to give his life to save them both. But a chilling discovery in the pages of history suggests that Jamie and Claire's story doesn't have a happy ending. Brianna dares a terrifying leap into the unknown in search of her mother and the father she has never met, risking her own future to try to change history . . . and to save their lives. But as Brianna plunges into an uncharted wilderness, a heartbreaking encounter may strand her forever in the past . . . or root her in the place she should be, where her heart and soul belong. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble You may also find them in your local library. Does he perk you up on your Monday morning?
He certainly gives me some motivation to wrap up another Powder River Pack book this week. I took last week off, Monday I was in the mountains with my sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and my boys and I didn't do a post on Friday since I'm still reading the Outlander books. I'm hoping to be done with those soon. Last week, we took the boys fishing, my oldest caught his first lake trout and we had a muddy, fun mess! This weekend, we wanted to go hiking but the cold changed our plans and I ended up reading most of the day. Like I said above, I'm wrapping up another Powder River Pack book and waiting on edits for Courage of Us. I've set up preorders for my next three books as well. I'm really liking that I can do it up to a year in advance now on Amazon. Love, Mercy, Call of the Alpha, and Bottoming Out are all up! I'm working on getting used to the school. We started week three today and I think I'm finally used to having a quiet house. That's all for now. Have a great week! x Brooke |
