The picture was taken a year ago. That hillside is now covered in snow. Thank God!
Today is cold and blowing with light snow and after taking Aspen to the vet this morning, I'm ready to cozy up and gets some words written. I want to thank everyone with Gunmetal Psychos' release. I was super nervous about this book because it's so different from what I normally write. I plan on doing more dark in the future, for now, I have some series that need to be wrapped up first. I don't have much else to share this week. Have a wonderful one! x Brooke

Greetings from Hoth! Where's is a balming -2 F and it took me an hour to shovel everything!
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving that we are finally getting what we should have been having since October. Hopefully this means this summer won't be, to quote my Grandpa, drier than a popcorn fart. I had ice gathering in my hair from just breathing on it and I'm classifying it for my workout for the day. Today, I'm diving deep into my final Long Claw Pride book. I decided to finish up my current on-going series before I start something brand new. With a sleeping puppy on my lap and another dog at my feet, I'm cozy with my tea and words. I hope you have a great week! x Brooke What a start to the year with reading! Several different series, not including a couple of ongoing ones, and each great in their own way.
Let's get started! I started the year with Duchess of Forsyth by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue. This was a five-star read! Fun stories of the Dukes. It would be helpful if you at least get through the Princes' books before diving into this one since there are characters you might not be completely familiar with if you've only read through the Dukes' books. My favorite story was Remy and Effie with a special appearance by the Archduke. Goodreads Amazon Next came the Severed Flames series by Annie Anderson It was a three-star read for me. An interesting story. The spice is nice but Vale kind of gets on my nerves. Goodreads Amazon The Lightlark series by Alex Aster was an interesting start to a new series. While it did have a hunger games feel to it, I kept waiting for more character development and was rooting for Grim and Isla every turn of the page. It was them that I keep rushing to get to. Three-stars. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble I dove back into Forsyth University with The Back Story by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue. A great peek into Killian, Rath, and Tristan's point of view from the beginning of Lords of Pain. Five-stars. Goodreads Get this book through their website. The Legends of Thezmarr by Helen Scheuerer. This series was something I had only thought might capture me. Little did I know I would be consumed! I love a strong fmc who doesn't fit the mold and this series is one I definitely plan on getting physical copies of. Five amazing stars! Goodreads Amazon I don't think this one comes as a surprise. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. This is the fastest I've read in this series to date! My emotions were all over the place with this. Gasps that not only startled sleeping dogs by almost gave my mom a heart attack, I was consumed. Five incredible stars! Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Or your local indie bookstore like where I bought mine. My last book is one I'm still currently reading. I tried to get it done before the end of January, but wasn't successful Don't Get Caught: A Masked Man Novella by Jaye Pratt. Goodreads Amazon There are my January reads! I hope you find something that interests you. x Brooke While I'm no George R.R. Martin, the winds of winter are blowing around Wyoming, bringing with it cold temps and hopefully more snow to make up for what we lack in moisture this last year. I'm working away on the final Long Claw Pride book. I decided to wrap up writing all my ongoing series before I started something new, possibly darker adventure.
Last week, I devoured Onyx Storm which has still left me reeling and now I'm devouring the Blood and Steel series. But I'll be back Friday with all that I've read this month. I hope you have a great week! x Brooke This week sees the release of my 40th book! Did I think 10 years ago while I was in a hospital bed far from home and fighting for my life I would be here? No. I thought I would be a cowboy romance or small-town romance author only. But the siren call of Gunmetal Psychos has brought me to my 40th book release.
When I say this is my favorite book, I mean it. There are so many reasons I love it that if I were to list them all, I'd give the whole book away. I put my everything into this book and it shows. My longest one to date, I hope you enjoy Scout, Saylor, the mountain, and the mortician as much as I do. You can buy it HERE Add to your TBR HERE And for something special click HERE Have an incredible week! x Brooke I received an email from a spammer pretending to be someone I know. Usually, this person calls me so after going with my gut and checking, I'm proud to say that I'm no fool.
Today marks a week of wrapping up a book that's been a pain in my ass for two months now. I'm glad because next week, I have jury duty almost every day. (Kind of hoping for it to be just selection and I can find a way to get out of it, but not feeling lucky about that.) Next week, I release my 40th book! Gunmetal Psychos is a book I had worked on off and on for the better part of two years. I love it. There'll be a pre-order link below. I don't have much else to share. Have a great week! x Brooke I actually have six books coming out this year, but since the last was a spur of the moment decision, I don't have the cover done yet. Most I'm still waiting on links to become available, but right now, you can pre-order Gunmetal Psychos which I'm so excited to open up the new year with.
All will eventually be found HERE Gunmetal Psychos is coming out January 23rd. Right in Front of You Vol. 2 (Morris Valley Gang Series) April 10th. Healing Devotion (Code of Honor Series) July 3rd. The Mating Truth (Long Claw Pride Series) September 25th. Briella (Heartstrings Series) November 20th. Cupid (Heartstrings Series) will wrap up the year on December 11th. I don't have much else to share with you. Hope you have a great one! x Brooke Happy second-to-last day of 2024! This year, like all the past ones, has flown by. Books written, published, and a lot more read! I'm going to jump back through the year to showcase each of my favorite reads for a month, but first, you get December's wrap up! Paved in Blood by Sonja Grey Goodreads Amazon Boys of Briar Hall by Elena Lawson Goodreads Amazon V by M.S. Gorza Goodreads Amazon Kings of Kilborn University by Elena Lawson Goodreads Amazon Rosenfeld by Maya Kessler Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Chestnut Springs Series by Elsie Silver Goodreads Amazon Indecent Demands by Marlee Wray Goodreads Amazon Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry Goodreads Amazon How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble And NOW is my yearly wrap up! From all the books I read this year, this is a breakdown of my favorite books or series each month.
January belongs to Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and Vampires, Whiskey, and Southern Charm. It was fun, fast-paced, and original in true Mimi Jean style! Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble February I finally finished A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, but A Court of Silver Flames was my favorite. I love a grouchy female and a goofy but still serious man willing to break through her walls. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble March belongs to the Brutal Boys of SIN series by Leila James. I read most of the series then, but had to wait for Wilder and he was worth it. Goodreads Amazon April saw the wrap-up for the Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti with Restless Stars. This series takes you on one hell of a ride and it's so worth it! Goodreads Amazon May I went out on a limb to give Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver a go and so glad I did. Even if I still can't look at ice cream the same. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble June is another series. The Bonds that Tie by J. Bree. 6 books all steamy and amazing! I love me a good reverse harem and that's what you get with this series. Goodreads Amazon July Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue's creation of the Royals of Forsyth University are chef's kiss perfection and the Princes of Legacy was a great July read. I flove this series so much! Goodreads Amazon August I invested in the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This series works well to mix read with Flesh and Fire even if it does give a few things away. I really enjoyed Poppy and Casteel. I can't wait to see what The Primal of Blood and Bone has in store for us. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble September came Bride by Ali Hazelwood. Now, I'm going to be honest with you, if you're still with me this far, I started this and put it down. I didn't really like the beginning but gave it another try because that seems to be my MO this year, I'm looking at you ACOTAR and ended up liking it. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble October I finally read Quicksilver. This, of course, was before I knew Callie Hart was picked up by a publisher and now have to wait for the second book. But I loved it. Though, the name Kingfisher has the bird popping into my mind at times instead of a handsome broody male. Goodreads Amazon November I started a series I plan on finishing this coming year. The Demon Court by Emma Hamm. It focuses on the seven sins which I love. Goodreads Amazon Last but not least is a book I spent all weekend devouring which hasn't happened in a long time. Reckless by Elsie Silver. It's part of the Chestnut Springs series and so good. I thought it would be my least favorite (still reading the final book) but I loved it so much. Goodreads Amazon There's my 2024 for you. As always, I hope you find something to read and become obsessed with. Have a Happy New Year! x Brooke This week, while Christmas is smack dab in the middle, is still just a normal work week just add in the factor my children are home with me.
Shopping is done. Presents are all wrapped. Cookies are baked. Now all is left is to sit back and enjoy time with my family and watch my husband smoke our prime rib dinner. I'm still trying to figure out this final werewolf book but think I'm overthinking it. Either way, I'm diving in for the week. Also, ARC copies of my next book are now available through BookFunnel. It's a dark menage romance. Click HERE Have a wonderful time with your loved ones. x Brooke ![]() Last week, while working away on one of the Powder River Pack books, I decided I needed to start over. Wrote out a new outline and all that. Well ... guess what? I decided to stick with what I was already working on. I just needed to go back and fix a couple chapters. It's a good thing I'm so far ahead in writing that I'm not pressed for time. This weekend, I did my final craft show of the year. Got judgmental looks from older ladies, met some new readers, and sold some books. It was a great event I hope to do again next year. Most presents are wrapped now and my shopping is complete except for one thing that hasn't arrived yet. Now, back to this werewolf and his female's road to redemption. Until next week! x Brooke |
