Last night at Sheridan Stationery Books and Gifts there was a sprayed edges class. I took my son's girlfriend with me and both of us got to pick out books but I brought a copy of Gunmetal Psychos to do. I really want to get pure black pages for this book but so far, formatting with Amazon hasn't been working out for me. I would have preferred skulls or maybe even a unicorn for my artwork, but the sword will do. This week, I'm going to be reaching the halfway point with another Morris Valley book. I'm also working away on getting things set for my one and only craft show for the year next month. That's all I have for the week. Happy Reading! x Brooke

I read in October? It really didn't feel like it. I've been busy elk hunting that reading was pushed to the back burner, but seeing as how that's one of my favorite burners, looks like I still read quite a bit.
Let's get started! The Primal of Blood and Bone by Jennifer L. Armentrout Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Wild Card by Elsie Silver - KU Goodreads Amazon Tourist Season by Brynne Weaver Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Mourning Wings by Nouha Jullienne - KU Goodreads Amazon Bloody Quarter by Brooklyn Cross - KU Goodreads Amazon Secret Desires by Tracie Douglas - KU Goodreads Amazon Cry, Little Dove by I.M. Wraith - KU Goodreads Amazon Boned by Rochel Badge - KU Goodreads Amazon The Road of Bones by Demi Winters Goodreads Amazon War Games by Sheridan Anne - KU Goodreads Amazon And there you have it! As always, I hope you find something to read on this list. Happy Reading! x Brooke For the past month, I have been everywhere and revisiting many locations in the hopes of finding an elk. Am I discourage? Not in the least, I'm having a blast and have been loving being out in the woods. Yes, getting an elk would be wonderful, but I'm working my ass off anyway with still plenty of time to fill my tag. When I'm not out hunting, I've been working on edits for In His Corner that comes out next month and a rough draft for one of my Morris Valley books. I will be back at the end of the week with what I've read. x Brooke Not really feeling it myself today at least, but Timber certainly was. I'm not sure how I managed to get a picture of her while in movement. I thought for certain it would come out blurry, but the conditions were perfect. My girl was wild and free while up on the mountain a few weeks ago. This past weekend was plagued with a flat tire, every single file I had going missing thanks to an update where OneDrive took over my computer again - thanks for that Microsoft took me hours to get everything back to rights - and hiking more than six miles with only elk sign but no elk. I finished up the final Powder River Pack book (really the second to last) and now diving into another Morris Valley book. I feel the need to make this declaration. Every image you find anywhere on my website are either purchased through DepositPhotos stock imaging website or have been taken by me. I know better than to use just some random image off of an image search or STEAL from anyone. I have known that fact well before I even published my first book. I follow every trademark or copyright that comes with the images I PURCHASE off of DepositPhotos. I will not tolerate scammers trying to harsh me anymore. I keep a lot behind the scenes but this is just ridiculous. Aside from that, I hope you have a wonderful week. x Brooke I'm entering the final stretch with the second to last Powder River Pack book. I should only have five or six chapters left to right this week which will mix with going hunting. This past weekend, I took my youngest with me and captured the picture to the left. It's proof that God has left signs behind everywhere, you just need to look for them. While I might have not got my elk yet, I'm having fun going out and spending time with family and getting to be in the woods. I don't have much else to share with you. Have a wonderful week! x Brooke I might have only come close to getting an elk this weekend, but there's nothing to complain about. We helped a young lady who beat me to the cow I was focused on and her grandpa pack it out and got to admire God's glorious masterpiece of nature.
I'm tired, but not sore, and ready to head back out! I had a wonderful weekend with my husband. Just the two of us working together to call in a bull with the hopes he was bringing a few cows with him. But for now, I'm turning focus back to working on my book and hopefully getting close to finishing it this week. Have a wonderful week! x Brooke This is going to be a short list this month. I didn't read nearly as much as I normally do. Between antelope hunting, processing said antelope, preparing to elk hunt, and working away on a book, I just didn't have the time.
That being said, here is my list. Wyatt by Jessica Peterson (KU, part of the Lucky River Ranch series) Goodreads Amazon Sawyer by Jessica Peterson (KU, part of the Lucky River Ranch series) Goodreads Amazon Of Heathens & Havoc: The Confession of Mercy Soules (KU, Fallen Gods of Thorncrown University) Goodreads Amazon Sovereign by Raya Morris Edwards (KU, The Sovereign Mountain Series) Goodreads Amazon Westin by Raya Morris Edwards (KU, The Sovereign Mountain Series) Goodreads Amazon Death Valley by Karina Halle (KU) Goodreads Amazon And there you have it! Short and sweet. As always, I hope you find something! Happy reading! x Brooke While I'm doing my best to remain focused on working on Savage Attraction (Powder River Pack #6) I find myself distracted by the fact I'll be up hunting this coming weekend. It feels like I just found out I drew and now I'm packing to go. You'd think with two animals already harvested the excitement would have died down but that's the opposite. Elk hunting, here I come! I want to thank everyone for their help with The Mating Truth's release this past Thursday. It means so much to me and I'm looking forward to seeing what reviews say in the next two weeks. I will be back later this week with What Brooke Read for September. Happy Reading, x Brooke Thursday marks a new release from me! The Mating Truth will continue the story of the Long Claw Pride and Mackenzie family. It's Afton's turn for the call to strike him and it's going to take him north into Northern Montana. There's something unique about Harper you'll have to read to find out. While I do my best to tailor each of my books within the various series as standalones, you can read this one on it's own but it is incredibly helpful if you've read the others first. That way you get to know the ongoing situation and characters. You can pre-order it HERE And add it to your TBR HERE Have a great week! x Brooke I love that my husband gave up hunting this year to help me focus on my own. While I'm all for him getting his own tags, this year has worked out differently in our family. A Costa Rican trip is really what caused my husband not to put in, but he's just as happy to help focus on me getting my tags filled as he would if he had his. While I still have less than a month to start looking for my elk, it doesn't stop us from scouting and spending "date nights" in the mountains calling and just photographing them this month.
Along with getting pictures of a raghorn bull and a few cows and calves, I'm getting loads of inspiration. While my imagination takes me off in any which direction, I've discovered over the past few years my stories are coming closer to home and finding ways to weave romances together with a Wyoming or Montana setting. This week, I'm focusing on the second to last Powder River Pack book which is actually the final one to be written because I decided someone needed a redemption story. If you're a fan of the series, maybe you can guess who I'm referring to. Also, The Mating Truth releases in TEN DAYS!! It's Afton's turn, what will he uncover when his mating call strikes? I hope you have an incredible week! x Brooke |
