What a week in reads! I have four for you this week. Two brand new and two that have been around for a while. To kick this post off, I have Wish by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Once in a while a book comes along that completely takes hold of you. Wish is one of those books. The chemistry between the characters is organically hot and floods you with all the feels. One thing I have always enjoyed about Mimi Jean's books, aside from unpredictability, is the messages she conveys within them. The meaning Wish hit me in the chest. I loved it! Another great book by this author. I highly recommend this. Blurb: If I could wish for one thing, it would be to have never met my ex. He took my money, cheated on me, and saddled me with an impossible mortgage. Now, just as I’m fighting to put my life back together, I find an unusual bottle with a note inside: “You get one wish. Make it count.” Har har. Someone’s idea of a joke? But nothing could prepare me for what comes next or for the screamin’ hot man with piercing blue eyes who shows up at my door, making demands. I should slam the door in his sex-god face, because this guy has trouble written all over him. But I can’t. Suddenly I do have a wish… Next is the newest from Jodi Ellen Malpas, Perfect Chaos. A forbidden romance that is off the charts hot! Blurb: It starts like any other Monday for Ty Christianson. Fifty laps in his pool, a suave suit, a chat with his mum on the way to his office, dodging countless calls from women, and his faithful yet cynical assistant waiting for him with a coffee. Then a meeting with his business partner and life-long friend, Sal, upends everything. Sal’s hired a new assistant without so much as consulting Ty. That’s a cardinal sin in their world, but it’s the least of Ty’s worries. Sal hasn’t just hired a new personal assistant, he’s hired an absolute goddess. And she’s off limits to Ty. Lainey Summer drives Ty crazy with her savage beauty, her effortless sexiness, and her unfathomable veneer. She plays her cards way too close to her chest, and doesn’t that just make her more enticing? Unlucky for Lainey, Ty’s notoriously irresistible. Unlucky for Ty, Lainey can resist him. Or . . . can she? As Ty sets on a mission to break Lainey, an intended conquest becomes a fixation. And in the process, he’s thrown into perfect chaos. Ruthless King Meghan March grabbed me and oh sweet Jesus, I couldn't put it down. I'm now onto the second book and loving it! Blurb: New Orleans belongs to me. You don’t know my name, but I control everything you see—and all the things you don’t. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn’t need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn’t know she caught my attention. She should’ve been more careful. I’m going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It’s time to collect what I’m owed. Keira Kilgore, you’re now the property of Lachlan Mount. *Ruthless King is book one of the Mount Trilogy* And last but not least is Sweet Haven by K.C. Lynn. Just like in the title, this is one sweet story.
Blurb: RECIPE: Two cups of an arrogant, dirty talkin’ firefighter who has an obsession with peaches and the forbidden girl who smells like them. One tablespoon of a sweet schoolteacher trying to find her place in the world while attempting to resist her brother’s sworn enemy. A slice of fate that has their hearts questioning the past and the consuming need they have for one another. A dash of desire. A pinch of rivalry. A sprinkle of déjà vu. Mix together in a large bowl to create a combustible passion and a future that neither of them could have ever predicted. Bake at 350° for a rich serving of destiny and a love that could burn for eternity. A timeless recipe that is sure to fill your heart with a generous helping of Sweet Haven.

My Review:
Five Amazing Stars! I only have one book for you today, unless you want to count fifteen volumes of the Fairy Tail manga.
May I present The Lying Games by Mickey Miller. This duet was a rollercoaster of a read! Blurb: Mickey Miller brings you both The Lying Game and The End Game, now in one complete Duet! Living with a sexy-as-sin roommate in a luxury penthouse should be a fantasy brought to life, right? Not when it's Carter Flynn--my teenage crush--who hates my guts. When I’m in town for a once in a lifetime dance camp, my living arrangements fall through at the last second. I have no other option but to crash with my childhood family friend...turned millionaire athlete. He still hasn't forgiven me for the lie I told him years ago that shattered his heart. But underneath it all, there are shades of the same boy I used to know, before his heart turned to stone. I can tell myself all I want that I hate him, too. But deep in my heart, I know I’ve never wanted anyone more in my life. When you’re playing the lying game, the most dangerous lies are the lies you tell yourself. *Includes both THE LYING GAME and THE END GAME!* Goodreads Amazon How is it possible already? This month has flown by!
It feels like I've accomplished so much, but when I think about it, I haven't done much. I went into this month with the goal of wrapping up the final rough draft of the fourth book of the Powder River Pack, which I'm hoping to get done next week. Anyway! This past weekend, I had a movie date with the youngest. It's hard to believe that going and seeing Sonic was the first movie we've been to by ourselves. He was the only one who wanted to see it and I couldn't miss a chance at seeing Jim Carrey in action again. It was great! I'm so glad they took the time to go back and fix Sonic. It has the right amount of content for kids as well as one-liners laced into the script for the parents to be entertained. This coming weekend, he and I have another date. This time, we are adding my not-so-little brother to the fun. The winter rodeo will be in town this weekend. That means Skijoring as well as local coffee and donuts! We are excited to head down and have some fun. Well, that's all I have for this Monday morning. I have the day off from work, but that just means I get more writing time. Have a wonderful week! x Brooke Friday, one of our favorite f-words. Second best to f … sorry, I'll keep it clean. This week I have three reads for you. All are KU.
First up is R.S. Grey's new book Doctor Dearest. You know how I love R.S.'s books and this one was no different. Blurb: Natalie Dr. Easton is part man, part myth. He’s a formidable surgeon. Highly respected in his field. He also happens to be an ex-collegiate quarterback with a classically handsome face. Are you catching on yet? He’s horrible. Beautiful. A walking Ralph Lauren ad. He’s also so off limits he should come with a warning label: This way lies heartache. Not only is he an attending at the hospital where I’m training, he’s also my brother’s best friend. If you’ve lost count, that’s two reasons why I plan on putting this ridiculous crush behind me. Besides, it’s definitely not mutual. Dr. Easton has never once paid me special attention. No tempting smirks. Not even one subtle innuendo. To him, I’m just another resident—all but invisible. Connor For the last five years, I’ve mentored Natalie in the OR, stayed in line, and kept my hands to myself, but it’s been agonizing. Natalie is trouble in scrubs. A walking temptation I’ve been forced to ignore. For so long, I’ve wanted her in silence. By the time fate finally throws me a bone, my patience has run out. Natalie’s brother is leaving town, and he wants me to watch over her while he’s gone. He has no idea how I feel about her. Neither does she. But she will. Haven’t you heard good things come to those who wait, Natalie? Well…I’ve done my waiting. Goodreads Amazon Next is Blue Beaver by JB Heller. Laugh-out-loud funny, this book has a city girl meeting a country boy and going toe-to-toe with a baby llama. Don't believe me? Read for yourself. Blurb: Did you know that flannel can be deceivingly sexy? I’m Charlotte, and if blogging and devoting my life to fashion has taught me anything, it’s that flannel was never a good choice. Turns out, I was wrong. So very wrong. The first time I met Elijah he told me I was insane and I called him a lunatic. Good times. Then when he came to my rescue, like a knight dressed in flannel, I had to eat my words. Apparently, not all country folk are serial killers’ intent on feeding you to their pigs. I know right, I was shocked too! Never in a million years did I imagine myself lusting after a dead sexy, flannel-clad, llama farmer. There’s no way it would ever happen. But he’s determined to change my mind. And I think, I might just let him. Goodreads Amazon Lastly, I have Enslaved by the Ocean by Bella Jewel. I thought I was going to get a historical romance by the cover but it is a modern pirate book. Blurb: Indigo is running, she has no other choice. She's done something bad, and the only way to escape it, is to flee her home, and her country. She sets out on a luxury Yacht, to take her to another country with her best friend Eric. But she runs into a problem. The Yacht catches fire. The ends up stranded in the ocean, terrified, and scared of the uncertain. Until they show up. The pirates. Terrified, Indigo and Eric have to face the reality that this might be the end for them. These are pirates, they are the criminals of the ocean. What chance have they got of surviving this nightmare? Then she lays eyes on Hendrix. He's the Captain, he's gorgeous, rugged, and mean. He's planning on keeping her to repay his debt to another man, by selling her. Now Indigo has a crazy ex after her, as well as a pirate she can't seem to get out of her head. Come on this heart wrenching, dark, angsty and dangerous adventure as two people so opposite, find something so beautiful. Goodreads Amazon That's all I have for the week. Have a great weekend and see you Monday. x Brooke I completely spaced yesterday. I was excited to dive back into writing for the week as well as running errands. If I owed you a mailed prize, it is now on the way.
Macy and Brandon's story in the Powder River Pack is coming along beautifully. I'm actually pantsing this story so I'm not sure where it is going to go in way of a conflict or not but something is coming together. All I know is how I want it to end. Above is the newest teaser I am releasing in my readers group today for She's No Cowgirl. That's it for the day. I'm writing, cleaning, baking, and running around like my typical headless chicken fashion. I'll see you Friday. x Brooke Happy Friday everyone. I hope if you do have to work this weekend, it goes by quickly so you can relax as well.
I only have two books for you this week. You may have noticed that I've been binge reading Mickey Miller books. They are great and The Subsitute was a great read! Blurb: Amazon Bestselling Author Mickey Miller brings you a sexy, new standalone romance novel. When the NFL goes on strike, Super Bowl champion Peyton O’Rourke ends up back in his hometown as a substitute teacher and high school football coach. The one thing he didn’t count on? Maddy Cooper being newly single. She’s the hot girl next door type. Literally. She’s literally the cute girl next door and his best friend’s (now ex) girl. And even though he knows he should be with anyone other than Maddy Cooper — Well you know the drill. Things are going to get hot. Heavy. Does Facebook still have an ‘It’s complicated’ button? Because it’s about to go down. Goodreads Amazon I'm a huge Rachel Van Dyken fan. I've read almost everything she has out so when I saw Stealing Her on KU I quickly picked it up. It came as an audio book and I'll be honest, I'm not a massive fan of those. I like to let my imagination go on what the character's voice may sound like and with this one, I struggled with the female narrator. No offense to her she did do a great job it just wasn't for me. Blurb: My estranged twin brother, Julian, was always the wonder boy - and soon-to-be CEO of our ruthless father's corporation. My mother and me? Left behind. Now, years after tearing our family apart, my father dares to ask "me" for a favor? Pretend to be Julian while he fights to survive a tragic accident. It can save the company. Nobody will be the wiser. It'll be our secret. I can play Dad's favorite. I'll do anything for Julian. And for my mother, who'll want for nothing. But this double life comes with a beauty of a hitch: my very real feelings for Julian's fiancée, Isobel. Not only am I betraying Julian, I'm deceiving a woman I love. She doesn't suspect a thing. As lies compound, lines are crossed and loyalties tested, all I can ask myself is. . .what have I done? Because sooner or later something's got to give. There's no way I'm giving up Isobel. But once the truth is exposed, it might not be my choice at all. Goodreads Amazon One thing any Wyomingite will tell you is to NEVER listen to a groundhog across the country. Spring means snow storms here and that holds true right now. Yesterday morning, I was able to go for a nice walk with my oldest and then the snow hit. We aren't as bad as other parts of the state and it's almost clear like when you get to the Montana border. I've shoveled enough already and have to go back out soon to do some more.
But enough about the snow. Did you watch the game last night? What did you enjoy the most? What didn't you care for? I didn't watch, instead, I wrote and hung out with my youngest. I did look up the commercials and halftime show this morning. The oddest commercials and the only one that stuck with me was the Jason Momoa one. I'm working away on the fourth Powder River Pack. I'm not going to lie. This is by far the most difficult book I have put together so far. I've written it twice now before I deleted and started for a third time. What they say about the third time being the charm holds true with this. I finally have it all figured out. I hope this is enough of an update for you. See you Friday. x Brooke I'm so sorry for the delay. Last week I had edits for Call of the Alpha (out now) and yesterday I just spaced it out. So here are the books I've read in the past couple of weeks.
The first book I have is Pink Bits by JB Heller. This book made me bust a gut it was fun and funny! Blurb: Did you know the medical term for a butt crack is intergluteal cleft? My name is Reagan, and spouting random facts like this one at inopportune moments is my affliction. I’m chronically awkward, socially inept and completely lack a filter. Believe it or not, men do not find these attractive traits. When my sexy-as-sin neighbour barges into my apartment at the arse crack of dawn, everything changes. For some strange reason, my brand of crazy doesn’t send him running for the hills. Instead, he settles in for a nap on my couch… Oh, and did I mention he was completely naked? Goodreads Amazon Next is Beyond the Dark by S.H. Pratt. A powerful read that will leave you breathless. The emotions were felt so deep in my soul that I will forever carry this book with me. Blurb: Malaki James knows the darkest recesses of life – knows the terrors lurking there. He’d fled the Pacific Northwest in an attempt to elude the horrors that had plagued him since childhood, vowing never to return. When life’s cruelty forces Malaki back to Washington State, he finds an unexpected light in Emsley. Emsley Dalton is no stranger to life’s dark twists. Struggling to find release from the vows that hold her bound and the soul-deep agony of loss, she finds herself wholly unprepared for the nightmare looming over Malaki. Fighting to overcome deep scars of his past and present, Malaki finds an ally in Emsley, her warmth is a beacon in the deepest of his darkest nightmares. Drawn to the emotionally battered man she knows Malaki to be, Emsley finds a new purpose in the void her life had become. But can they find a way through the nightmare? Together, there is always light Beyond the Dark. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Next I have two boxsets. If you're looking for steamy, insta-love books, Brill Harper is great with them! Blurbs: Books 5 through 7 These guys are real men to the core: virile, a little primal, and good with their hands. But when these hunky, strapping heroes fall for the loves of their lives, we discover they have ooey gooey marshmallow hearts. It’s the best combination, right. The bigger they are, the harder they fall...and the Blue Collar Bad Boys in this bundle are a testament to that. Get three books in one for a delicious price and watch as the brick layer, the military hero, and the farmer find a forever kind of love with women who are quirky, a little nerdy, and a lot adorable. Women just like you and me. You won't miss billionaire heroes once you spend some time with these real men. Your book boyfriend is in here. Go get him. Goodreads Amazon Books 8 through 10 The bigger they are, the harder they fall...and the Blue Collar Bad Boys in this bundle are a testament to that. Get three books in one for a delicious price and watch as the cowboy, the bomb technician, and the bartender find a forever kind of love with women who are quirky, a little nerdy, and a lot adorable. Women just like you and me. You won't miss billionaire heroes once you spend some time with these real men. Your book boyfriend is in here. Go get him. Goodreads Amazon How about another boxset? This is Diablo's Throne by HJ Bellus. Blurb: Diablo’s Throne is about fighting, it’s about winning, and it’s about being the best MMA fighter to ever enter the ring. Three standalone novels following the lives of three fighters built to win no matter the cost. They are strong, ruthless, cunning, and merciless when it comes to winning the ultimate championship. But these stories have a twist, and that’s the fierce, passionate women who manage to bring these beasts to their knees. Cruz, Jag, and Trick will have you at the edge of your seat, so be prepared for one hell of a rollercoaster ride as you enter… Goodreads Amazon Still with me? I'm almost done. Second to last, I have Trashy Foreplay. Now to me, this title didn't fit this story that is so much more. Blurb: He's flying home to confront his cheating wife. She's running from her life in shame. Neither expected to fall in love 35,000 feet in the air. With my heart and reputation in ruins, I can’t afford to make another mistake. Boarding a flight to Seattle is supposed to give me a clean slate, but from the moment Cash Montgomery slides into the seat next to mine, I’m captivated by his steel eyes that see too much. I ache for this stranger in a way I’ve never ached for anyone. But I didn’t know he was married, and I sure as hell didn’t see the curveball fate had in store. My clean slate in Seattle isn’t so clean after all because my new boss is the man forbidden to me. And the only man I want. The only man I’ll do anything for, even if it means breaking the promise I made to myself when I fled my old life in shame. I wasn’t supposed to fall for a married man, but I did. Goodreads Amazon I finished this last one late last night. Be with Me by Lea Coll. Blurb: I've been friends with Jack Perry since he protected me from a high school bully but I want more from the sexy firefighter. Jack’s back in town to save his family’s business and I won't miss another opportunity to make him mine. When Jack stops by my bakery, I notice he’s filled out since high school and I can’t resist his boyish smile and wink. Too bad my high school bully is my new boss and he’s determined to ruin everything. I don’t want Jack to protect me and I don’t want to be his friend. But he’s only in town temporarily and everyone always leaves. It's time to show him I'm all grown up and all I want is for him to be with me. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Sorry for so many this week. Now that the rush of release day is behind me and the next one is a few months away I should be okay to focus again. Have a great weekend. See you Monday. x Brooke |
