This past weekend, the majority of my family spent it in the Black Hills and boy, did we have a blast! There was some interesting memories made and plenty of laughs to be had. My kids were sad to leave but I promised we'd be there again.
This week is a busy one now that we're in the last week of school. I'm making cookie dough today, learning to decorate them tomorrow, and surprising my son's class with them Thursday. I don't have much else to share right now. As always, I hope you have a wonderful week. x Brooke

The slideshow doesn't give a lot away, but I did read a lot this month. Hate was four books and so was 7th Circle. Both were thick-ish books.
Madison Kate Series by Tate James Goodreads Amazon The Chase by Elle Kennedy Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Hades Series by Tate James Goodreads Amazon That Sik Luv by Jescie Hall Goodreads Amazon Princes of Chaos by Samanth Rue and Angel Lawson (New Release) Goodreads Amazon And that's all folks. Now that the weather is nicer, I don't have as much time to sit and read. As always, I hope you find something you migh tlike. x Brooke Brings allergies, thankfully mine have gotten better over the years that they don't leave me blinded with red eyes and the inability to breathe. So, now I can enjoy taking pictures of them without sneezing like crazy.
I don't have much to share right now. I'm already done with one book that's coming out next year, can you guess what series it belongs to? I have a pattern, have you figured it out? The end of the school year is fast upon us and we're turning focus to summer activities; mountains, fishing, hikes, morning walks, a job for the older kid, and off to help Grandpa for myself and the younger one. That's all I have for you this week. I'll be back Friday with What Brooke Read! Have a great one! x Brooke School isn't out yet, but I'm starting already! The first book of 2024 is currently being worked on. My process is: character development, outline, rough draft, second draft, read through, betas, editing, formatting, and then publishing. I'm almost halfway through that process for the first book!
I hope you had a great mother's day yesterday. It was rainy here so we were stuck inside. Yes, I'm getting cabin fever pretty badly. I don't have much else to share this week. Have a great one! x Brooke I did my first craft fair for the year this past weekend. It's always fun to connect with locals and find out what they like to read. I may have not sold a lot of books, but I made connections as well as hopefully introduced others to other local authors who might be more up their alley.
I'm hoping to get on with some others maybe not in my town but other places throughout the year. As for now, I'm writing away on another Cupid book. I started it last week and didn't really feel the story, so I started it over completely. I'm already 8,000 words in and much happier with the story that includes pepper spray and a pet coyote. That's about all I have for you this week. Have a wonderful one! x Brooke I felt like being poetic today with the title. Yesterday was spent with a dose of smoke inhalation thanks to my dumbass forgetting all about grabbing a gaiter before heading out to my parents' house to burn ditches.
It got me thinking about how my mom always said never to burn bridges. I know, it's metaphorical but still, compared to burning a bridge down you might not ever be able to rebuilt, why not burn ditches? It promotes regrowth and all that, cleaning out the old to make way for the new. I don't know, maybe I'm still not fully awake despite walking the youngest to school, working out, and just now getting to my coffee, but I liked it. If you're a loyal follower to my website, I'm working toward adding something here real soon. I'm planning on wrapping up my final rough draft for the school year in the next couple of weeks and then will be turning focus on re-writes as well as launching something new here. I don't have much else to share with you today. Have a great one! x Brooke |
