This last weekend was spent shopping with my husband for hunting season, visiting with fellow authors, getting to know readers, and having a lot of fun ... except Sunday, that was a mess with all day spent fixing the plumbing in our bathroom.
As you can see from the picture T.M. Wikto took for me I had a lot going on at my table. The decals you can see on the left I will be posting on my shop for sale as soon as I finish this post. I hope there will be an event next year as well because Billings is close to my home as well as a place where I have some family members residing. Now, I'm back to work outlining the books I plan on writing once school starts. I have plans to get as many outlines plotted out as possible within the two weeks I have left with my kids. As always, I hope you have a wonderful week. x Brook

Last week I completely spaced doing a post. I had a book I was wanting to wrap up while going to a writer's workshop at the local library a friend was putting on and now I'm diving into outlines for the first three books I plan on writing when school starts back up as well as making sure I have everything together for the Big Sky Book Event this coming Saturday. I'm pretty excited for this event. It'll be my first one for the year and likely my only for book events only. I'm going to try to get into a few Christmas season craft shows locally though.
With summer wrapping up pretty quickly, I'm trying to do as much fun things with my kids as I can in the few weeks before they start school again. It's going to be so nice not listening to them fight anymore but I will miss them. That's all from me this week. As always, I hope you have a wonderful week! x Brooke Okay, it feels like I was just here doing this for June. July was busy for our family starting with a wedding and ending with a fishing trip this coming weekend. There was a case of the flu for my kids and I last week and somehow, I've managed to still get nearly three books done for next year!
Two weeks from today I'll be in Billings, Montana getting geared up for the Big Sky Book Event. If you're going, I can't wait to meet you! All right, let's dive into my reads for July. Cruel Lord by Ivy Thorn Goodreads Amazon Rowan by Callie Rhodes Goodreads Amazon Kings of Desire by M.O. Absinthe Goodreads Amazon Son of Saint by Ruby Vincent Goodreads Amazon Finding Home: Destination Romance by Jaime Russell Goodreads Amazon Honey Trap by Tate James Goodreads Amazon Reawaken his Heart by K.L. Myers Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Monsters Under my Bed by M.J. Marstens Goodreads Amazon Jade: Rogue Enforcers by K.D. Michaels Goodreads Amazon The SEAL's Homecoming by Tracie Douglas Goodreads Amazon Hunted by My Stepbrothers by Angel Lawson and A.K. Rose Goodreads Amazon Forget-Me-Not Bombshell by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti Goodreads Amazon That's all I have for you for this month! I hope, as always, you find something interesting. I gave my first monster reverse harem a try this month and found it interesting. There's one more book to the series yet to come out, so I'll finish it but I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea. Have a wonderful weekend. x Brooke My summer of re-writes are coming to an end in just a couple of weeks which is perfect timing seeing as the Big Sky Book Event will be happening by then. I'll have plenty of time finishing getting ready for that. I'm thinking about making some book-ish decals to sell, any fun ides I should go with?
As you can see from the picture, the next Long Claw Pride book will be coming out at some point next year. I had no clue what I was going to do when I started The Mating Call but I'm glad I made the choice I did with this series. After I wrap this one up, I have some massive work to do with a couple of future books I already have done and need to fix quite a few things. My kids and I fought with the 24-hour flu this past weekend and just now starting to feel some semblance of normal. It's been a while since I've been that sick, so I'm curious how long it'll take me to spring back. This Friday will be What Brooke Read for July. It feels like I just did it for June. Where did the month go?!? As always, have a wonderful one. x Brooke Sorry for not posting last week. It was crazy here and I honestly spaced it.
Last week was rodeo week here and always symbolizes the halfway mark of summer. I don't feel like I've done as much as I usually do. I think we can all guess why ... But this isn't a political post! I plan on spending more time in the mountains in the coming weeks and then there's the Big Sky Book Event in Billings, MT I'm super excited for! I'm working away on my second to last manuscript of re-writes for the summer and I'll have all my 2023 books ready, along with the covers in the coming weeks. I hope wherever you're reading this from, the heat isn't too bad for you. Have a great week. x Brooke I don't know about you, but I'm not doing much of anything today. Why? I was busy almost all weekend with my brother's wedding. It was a blast and it was great to see a lot of faces I haven't seen in a while, but I'm beat. I think I might clean the dog hair out of my car and call it a day, curl up and read Gallows Bridge by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. I've been dying for this book for a long time and now have a day to dedicate to it.
Happy Fourth of July by the way! We aren't much into fireworks unless I can be up close enough to get pictures like the one above I got a long time ago. I hope you're having an amazing weekend and are being smart and safe. Have a great one! x Brooke Happy last Monday of the month! Last week got all messed up so I'm doing this post today instead of a regular one. We have a busy week ahead of us with a wedding this weekend.
All right, let's dive in! Some books are ones I plan on reading this week as well like Gallows Bridge which doesn't come out until Thursday. First was the Boneyard King Series by Becca Steele and C. Lymari Goodreads Amazon The second Wall Men book by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Sacrifice of the Brave King by Eliza Raine and Rose Wilson Goodreads Amazon My Professor by R.S. Grey Goodreads Amazon The Sex Bucket List by Prescott Lane Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Stolen Trophy by K.A. Knight and Kendra Moreno Goodreads Amazon Foxy Tales by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti (This is only available in the month of June so make sure you grab a copy!) Goodreads Amazon Slateview High Books by Eva Ashwood Goodreads Amazon Secrets and Sunrises by DL Gallie Goodreads Amazon Fighting Love by Kristine Allen Goodreads Amazon Dukes of Madness by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue Goodreads Amazon Gallows Bridge by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti Goodreads Amazon I might have another one in there somewhere, but the author currently doesn't have any links for it since the book doesn't come out until tomorrow. As always, I hope you find something interesting within my reads. Have a wonderful week and if you celebrate Fourth of July, a great safe one! x Brooke Now that I have the first book of 2023 done, the rest are showing promise to go a little quicker. By the end of this week, I'll have the second book done and will be taking the next week off to do a few others things including getting ready for my brother's wedding!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We went and saw the new Jurassic World. I enjoyed seeing some of the original cast come back for this one. That's all I have for you this week. I'll be back Friday with What Brooke Read. x Brooke You might have noticed, but I've slowly been pulling some of my books to go wide for a while. For those of you who don't buy your ebooks from Amazon, you can now find them on Smashwords, Kobo, and Barnes and Noble. I'm slowly working on getting universal links together as well.
Don't worry, I'll still have them cycling through Kindle Unlimited if that's your preferred reading choice. I hope you're having a wonderful start to the summer! x Brooke Yep, you read that right. The end is near! The end of school that is. Ha ha! My kids only have a couple of days left with the final day filled with an award assembly and then pizza with my little. I'm almost halfway done with the second draft of my first book for 2023. It's a long, standalone. I'm currently at 36k in words. The rough draft went to 74k so it'll be interesting to see if I get that close with the second draft as well.
We had county shoot this weekend. Both my kids shoot archery and did pretty good. Though they didn't win top marks, they still gave it their all and I'm extremely proud of them. I can't wait to see how far they'll go with it. That's all for me this week. Have a wonderful one! x Brooke |
