My thirtieth book comes out in just 3 Days! I can't believe how far I've come. And of course, Hit on You is a standalone. I thought it was fitting for this milestone release. Luke and Nikolai came to me in a period of time I was pretty down after losing someone important to me. Dark as this story hopefully is, it's special to me.
This week, I'm starting a book for a project with many other authors, my story coming next year. I don't have much more to share for this week. Here are the links for Hit on You. It's currently up for pre-order! x Brooke

Yes, the picture above is by yours truly. I was out and about with the husband this past weekend and ended up at my parents' house where I took this. If you follow me on social media, I do a daily dose of beauty post and for the past several months, I've been using pictures I take. I love photography, especially landscapes and wildlife. Yes, my children too but that's just for me and close friends and family. I love this shot. Definitely going to end up in my top pictures of 2023 already.
That's not all having me feeling great about the start of this year. I'm almost done with my first manuscript for the year. The story I'm working on is coming out next year. I had it done one way for a while now and it just wasn't sitting right with me so I started all over again. I'm 26k words so far and will have it done this week. I don't have much else to share with you, mainly because my face feels like I've been repeatedly punched - thanks head cold. Have a wonderful one! x Brooke I'm tired. We had a fun New Year's weekend with friends and family and now I'm dragging today. With the beginning of the new year, I'm starting the third and hopefully last draft on a book coming out next year. I'm determined to get this story right! I'm pretty excited for 2023. The books coming out both by me and as well as so many incredible authors, the adventures my boys and I have planned that has be waiting for summer, and just life in general.
Oh! And Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford was my first celebrity crush and I can't wait to see him in the final film that had my young heart fluttering. The man is still good looking. I hope your New Year's was wonderful and that your year is a great one. I'm generally a pretty positive person which wars with the realist in me all the time. I'm a firm believer that it isn't a year that dictates how your life goes but you. Think of each day as a fresh start and choose to be positive. I've got a pinched nerve in my bum and still not letting it hold me back every day. Take 2023 by the horns and bring that steer under your control. As always, have a wonderful one! x Brooke ![]() It's time for my top reads from every month of 2022! Be warned, the majority have been dominated by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. I read all the books earlier in the year but decided to hold it all off until the latest book came out in December. The words these sisters craft and the stories they make is awe-inspiring. I can't get enough and cannot wait to see what they have instore for their readers this coming year. Goodreads Amazon And that's a wrap! Well, I'm adding something new this year. A little recap on my own books. Below is each that came out in 2022 with a link to them, you just need to click the cover. As always and forever, I hope you find something to read and enjoy. Have a wonderful start to your 2023!
x Brooke I know, a day late for this graphic. I hope whatever you celebrate, it was a wonderful time with friends, family, and plenty of wonderful memories.
While we were off today, I didn't take the extra day off from writing and well on my way to being done with my 2027 books. I need to go back and fix one of the 2024 ones after my current WIP is done. I don't have much to share other than we are finally coming out of the bitter cold ... for now and everything is melting. I'll be back at the end of the week with my yearly wrap up with What Brooke Read. As always, have a great one! x Brooke The big reveal is this Friday! Are you excited? I know I am. Tracie Douglas' talent is beyond belief with how easily she can read my mind and harness each cover I have an idea for.
This week isn't just the lead up to Christmas as well as break for my kids, but the majority of it is going to be spent working on the final book for the Code of Honor Series. Release wise, it's still far off four-ish years to be exact, but it's where I'm at with my writing schedule. wish me luck with getting words down with my kiddos around. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season filled with love and memories. Have a great one! x Brooke No, I'm not completely serious. I have books to write and the one I'm currently working on is something I love! But, all other times, my nose will be buried in this thick bad boy until I hit the final page and I know I'll be left craving more. I like big books and I cannot lie ... Yeah, you get me.
This week will see the end of my fourth standalone that won't be coming out until the beginning of 2027 and the beginning of the final Code of Honor book that'll be come out that same year. yes, I'm writing that far in advance. I was sick when I first started out and didn't have much else to do other than get better so I spent it writing. I know my line-up. I'm looking at it now as I write this blog post and I'm pretty damn excited about it! Between now and 2027 two new series will come to be and the end of two others. Just a tiny bit sad about that, but I'm hoping to go out with a bang with both of them. We have a massive storm system about to move in, meaning we'll have more drifts than actual snow accumulation so, if you follow me on any of my social media, I just might share pictures of snow. Not sure yet. Maybe I'll save them for my daily dose of beauty posts. I still have my advent calendar going. My advice? Make sure you take liberties with these deals because I don't do this very often anymore. Plus, two of the books coming out in 2023 are part of the Code of Honor Series and Long Claw Pride. Hint, hint! That's all for me for now. As always, have a great one! x Brooke This year, I decided to do an advent calendar. I have more than enough books and have decided that some might be up for free for a day and others it might be a .99 cent sale. Either way, it's a great way to pick up one or more of my books. With 2023 right around the corner, I highly recommend picking up certain ones. *Cough, cough* Code of Honor Series and The Mating Call *Cough, cough*. But it is also a great way to get caught up on all my other books as well. There are a few I didn't include, but look to find out what I have so far. Today is day 5 and She's No Cowgirl is currently FREE!
I'm toiling away on another standalone. My plan for the future is to release one of those bad boys every other year. Meaning, every odd year to come. I'm absolutely loving what I have written so far and hope you do as well, but this one is WAY down the road. I hope your Christmas shopping is going well. I wrapped mine up this past weekend and now it's onto wrapping which I've ran out of paper. As always, I hope you have a wonderful week. x Brooke I know, I'm late! Last Friday I had my kiddos home for the holiday so it was time spent with them. I cannot believe it's the end of November already and now we're all starting the countdown to Christmas. I'm not an overly festive person, I won't decorate until this weekend and even then it isn't much. BUT that doesn't mean I don't think of y'all out there. From today, November 28th, to this Saturday, December 3rd, I'm running a 15% off sale on my website! That means books, decals, whatnot.
I'm wrapping up the fifth Heartstrings book at the beginning of this week and then diving into a standalone. Now, onto the books I read. Looking at them, it doesn't seem like I read a lot but it felt like I did. Bad Blood Bear by Anastasia Wilde Goodreads Amazon Seraphim Academy by Elizabeth Biggs Goodreads Amazon Next is three new Rogue Enforcers! Skylar by Grace Brennan Goodreads Amazon Edge by Dawn Sullivan Goodreads Amazon Thayne by Screaming Mim Goodreads Amazon And finally, I started the Vampire Games by Caroline Peckham. Goodreads Amazon As always, I hope you find something worth while reading. Have a wonderful one! x Brooke I'm late this week. Monday's have become kind of crazy for me of late.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! I'm not going to bore you with what I'm thankful for because honestly, I live every day thankful for all the things in my life. I'm working away on Heartstrings #5 and then this afternoon it's helping get my oldest caught up on homework. This kid does NOT take after me in the aspect of school. Here's hoping for the younger one. Our plans for Thanksgiving is staying home where my husband is smoking our turkey and getting to stay in our pjs. Score! This weekend, I'll be at the Ramada in Sheridan, Wyoming for a craft show which is also Small Business Saturday here. Books always make a great gift. Especially since I have everything from naughty to nice. That's all I have for this week. Have a great one. x Brooke |
