Mondays are difficult, but this one is a little extra this time around. While I have characters screaming at me to get written down, I'm lacking the motivation especially since I started A Court of Silver Flames last night. I'm a complete Cassian girl.
But it isn't he Illyrian Mountains I'm dreaming of, but that of the Bighorns. I want to be up top fishing, hiking, and taking pictures. That's not to be right now. Fresh snow will prevent me from at least fishing, but I think I need to take a day trip up just to go take pictures. No hiking either unless I remember to pack my snowshoes. This week is much like all the others, I'm diving into writing and hoping to wrap up at least one of the stories by the end of the month. Ten days until The Mating Chance comes out. Be sure you subscribe to my newsletter to get all the details on that. That's all I have for this week. Have a great one! I hope you find something fantastic to read! x Brooke

I'm plugging away at my multi-writing project but feel like all the energy has been drained from me. No, it's not from watching the Super Bowl. In fact, I was watching Cheaper by the Dozen with my kids and reading instead. I spent yesterday deep cleaning my house and taking new pictures of all my books while bouncing between reading A Court of Wings and Ruin and Under the Oak Tree. Loving both stories by the way.
I don't have much else to share this week. I'm kind of boring right now. If you are interested in shifters and would like an ARC of my upcoming book, The Mating Chance, please feel free to reach out to me. Have a great one! x Brooke It's been a week since I decided to try to get three stories out of my head and write them at the same time. And I'd like to say I haven't lost my marbles yet! It helps each story is completely different from each other with six different characters filling my mind. I've managed to write almost 4,000 words each day and a little over 2,000 this past weekend.
I'm having fun with it, not forcing the words but enjoying how each of these books are coming together. In other words, I'm impatiently waiting for paperback copies of Resisting Nature which should be coming in this week and working away on getting The Mating Chance ready for a Leap Day release at the end of the month! This book will not be on Kindle Unlimited for the first couple of months. I'm releasing it wide along with all the other authors in the Lumbercats Series. If you are interested in an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) to read and review the book for me, please let me know. You will not be required to make editing corrections, it's just for reading. The book is in the editing process so I know there are errors lingering in there. That's all I have for you this week. Have a great one and I hope you're reading something great! x Brooke I'm back! 2024 saw me reading quite a bit. Some the first 16 mangas Jujutsu Kaisen. I'm going to see if I can try something different this year with a couple of ratings with each title.

It really didn't feel like I read this much. As always, I hope you find something on this list to read. Have a great one and happy reading! x Brooke I literally have three stories screaming in my mind right now. I guess when I come back from a writer's block, my mind doesn't hold back. One is a dark romance, another is the shifter one I'm working on, and another is a romantasy I've found myself daydreaming over.
The question is, can I do this? Balance three books at one? Maybe right one chapter for each a day? I'm not really sure. As you likely saw Friday, I didn't do my What Brooke Read post. I decided to start waiting until after the month is over, so it'll be coming this week instead. Last week I released the fourth book in the Powder River Pack Series, Resisting Nature. If you're looking for a great werewolf read, make sure you pick it up today! Have a great week! x Brooke I'm sitting here, gearing up to get my writing started for the week while watching One Piece with my kiddos and celebrating that my writer's block that has had a hold of me since the beginning of October is finally over! I have a little bit more focus on what I'm diving into.
This week also marks the release of my fourth Powder River Pack book! I have to admit something to you about this series. Before I published the first book, A Second Chance, I wasn't sure I'd actually release them. The first four books were a mess. I had no clue what order to go in. Originally it was supposed to be Call of the Alpha first and then Resisting Nature, but changed it so many times because there are elements in Resisting Nature that would have been odd if I hadn't released It Just Comes Natural before it. That book was a train wreck at first on its own. I'm very happy with how this series is turning out now after a little shuffling and reworking. I have two more books to write in this series with the next two waiting for second drafts. I love each of these books, but the next one up is my favorite. Don't tell the others. I'll be back later this week with What Brooke Read. Have a great one! x Brooke I don't know about you, but I'm over the bitter cold. Honestly? I'm a little jealous over the fact we here in my neck of Wyoming barely got any snow. I'd take that over the bitter cold any day all day every damn day of the week. We've got the water running overnight to prevent the pipes from freezing and extra towels stuffed under doors to keep the cold out as much as possible. And no, we really haven't turned our heat up by much.
Maybe that's why I'm struggling to get into writing to start this week or maybe it's just because it's a Monday feeling like of Monday. Yeah, you know that makes sense. It could also that this is the start of a new series and I'm freaking out about making it good. It's a rough draft though and I need to keep that in mind. I hope wherever you are, you're warm, safe, and not dealing with the pain in the ass known as ice. Have a great one! x Brooke After taking the past two weeks off from doing pretty much anything related to writing so I could be present with spending time with my kids while they were on winter break, I'm back at it today with a brand-new series idea! I'll give you a hint ... grizzly shifters! Okay, maybe two. I've been looking for a true-blue mountain man romance. While there are plenty of great books out there, they don't meet my definition of mountain man. I'm talking alone in the woods, living completely off the land with little to no contact with people, and the works like that. Well, I'm doing it with this book.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (or holiday you celebrate) along with a fun New Year. We took a drive up the mountain so I could snap some new pictures and play around with a glass orb I got for Christmas. With that, I hope you have a great one! x Brooke That time has come again! This one though is two parts! This first half is just the books I read for this month and the second half are the books I have selected as my top pick from every month in 2023. So, let's get started! First up is Forever Never by Lucy Score Goodreads Amazon See No Evil (The Society) by Ivy Fox Goodreads Amazon Icebreaker by Hannah Grace Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Billionaire Lumberjack by Gwyn McNamee Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Midnight Kisses (Shifter Island) by Leia Stone and Raye Wagner Goodreads Amazon Bran (Emerald Ridge) by Kelsey Kain Goodreads Amazon Taming Wilde (First time in Emerald Ridge) by Kelsey Kain Goodreads Amazon Unexpected Hero (Heroes of Emerald Ridge) by Kelsey Kain Goodreads Amazon It's Snow Fantasy (Snowed in Emerald Ridge) by Kelsey Kain Goodreads Amazon It's a Fugly Life by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff Goodreads Amazon As always, I hope you find something to read in this list. Yearly Wrap up with my favorites!January: Never King's by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This was the final book from King. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble If you've made it all the way down here, congratulations! As always, I hope you find something that tickles your fancy.
Have a Happy New Year! x Brooke It went from December 1st to the 18th like the buck you've been hunting all season just heard the twig snap!
Am I ready for this coming weekend? Sure, as much as a not so merry person like myself can be. I am a little disappointed there isn't much snow yet. I know, don't shoot me for those who are remembering last year when we were already drifting and shoveling every single morning. I miss those mornings. I strangely like to shovel, especially when I can play with my dog while doing so. She loves catching snow. This week is filled with a mountain man presentation with my dad for my youngest, a Christmas concert, and party where I have to bring chocolate covered pretzels I still need to make. I'm also going to attempt to write throughout the week. Last week I release book #34 and hope everyone is finding Seraphina a small dose of the happy for this holiday season. Like all my cupids, she was a hoot to write. Three more to go in this series! If you're subscribed to my newsletter, this Wednesday will be a special one! I'll be announcing my 2024 books there first and sometime next week I'll be announcing them to the rest. So make sure you're subscribed. There won't be a blog post next Monday since it's Christmas, but I'll be back next Friday with what I read as well as my top books from each month of this year. Have a great one! x Brooke |
