It was Wednesday by the time I realized I hadn't posted for the week. So, I'm getting back on top of things. I've lost myself in doing things with the kids now that it's summer break, getting ready for Wild Deadwood Reads, and of course, writing! I'm halfway through my second drafts for the year for my 2022 releases and another that will be come out later this year! That's right, I added a fourth book to 2021, but I can't share anything about it yet.
I've had to fix holes in our pool, replace a trampoline, and now just trying to keep my kiddos busy while I write a little each day. Today's high is supposed to be 102, so we hung out by the pool this morning and inside this afternoon.
Reminder, Taking Flight, Code of Honor book two comes out next month! I'm so excited to get more of this series out. Jody got pieces of me that I don't always share with anyone.
Next week, I have a photoshoot where one of my friends is my model for my next My Cowboy book. Super excited that we get to use our local fairgrounds for it.
That's about all I have to report for now.
If you're going to Deadwood this weekend make sure to come see me and so many other kick ass authors up at the Lodge at Deadwood!
Have a wonderful week.
In a rare weekend, Memorial Day in Northern Wyoming we had warmth and sunshine. We spent all day Saturday and Sunday outside doing work and I got burned. Usually it's the first fishing trip that does me in but not this time. We pulled our boardwalks to replace them with concrete next weekend. I just need to call before we can dig!
Monday, I made the husband take some time off and we headed up the mountain. He'd never seen Shell Falls, so we went and found some moose, deer, and just had some fun. My summer of re-writes is going really well, I'm almost done with the first book for 2022. I'll give you another hint, it involves a soldier and a single mom who needs a step stool to work at the bar that appears in two other books of mine.
This coming weekend is my oldest's first competitive archery shoot. I can't wait to see him in action.
That's about all I have for you this week.
Have a wonderful one.
Some of the covers might be messed up since I'm having difficulties.

And that's all. I know there are still a few days left, but that's where I'm at. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Our weekend was mostly quiet due to us having a sick pup. Timber somehow got kennel cough but thankfully it's only a mild case and she's doing so much better today. We've had the house on lockdown to keep it as calm as possible for her, not an easy task when I brought a cowbell home Saturday.
My dad goes a wild hair up his butt to finally clean out my grandma's garage. That's where the family laughs comes in. Some things were uncovered that brought back a wide array of smiles and memories.
One thing that aided in having a mostly quiet weekend at home was that I got the last new manuscript I plan on working on until September. Now, I'm onto second drafts finally!
First off ... well, I don't know if I'm ready to share what the line up for next year is. Maybe a hint of the first book for 2022?
You'll be howling to get your hands on it. Enough of a clue?
This week there will be the May What Brooke Read on Friday and my kiddos will be home for the summer!
I hope y'all are ready because I'm not.
Have a great week!
I hope your weekend was wonderful. Ours was rainy but okay. As you can see from the shirts above, I've been busy. All of these, except The Bridesmaids series, is available in my store. The Bridesmaids Series comes out next year.
Colors will only be in black and white for now. The ones above are my personal shirts. I'm finishing up a manuscript today and then diving into an outline for another one coming out next year. I was hoping to really get to work on re-writes but had something come up.
Hopefully, I'll have a few announcements for you soon!
For now, check out the giveaway below.
Have a wonderful week!
The kiddos are down to the single digits when it comes to their school year and then the summer begins.
That means I only have a few days to wrap up the manuscript I'm working on and then it'll be second drafts for the next three months! Pool fun, daily morning walks, and as much mountain time as we can possibly get with hiking, camping, and fishing!
What summer plans are you making?
Is Wild Deadwood Reader June 19th in Deadwood, South Dakota one of them? I'm excited to be heading back!
That's about all from me this week.
Have a great one!
It was a rainy day yesterday, one that I love being able to stay inside and write but the words just weren't coming to me. Instead, I fired up my Cricut, heated my Easy-Press, and got to work making sample shirt for me to wear and hopefully for readers to buy in my shop. Two hours it took me to make shirts for each of my series, two that aren't even out yet! Today, I'm rocking the My Cowboy Series shirt.
In writing news, I'm hard at work with two manuscripts, one is a second draft while the other is a rough draft. I'm also working on something else. It's going super slow and I'm not quite ready to share much about it yet.
And that's how I'm kicking starting May.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Hey! How you doing? Sorry, had to get my Joey on. Lol
How is it already the end of April? I don't have much to share other than the books I've read this month. Ready? Here we go!

Last week, I jumped the gun about have What Brooke Read coming out last Friday. Still have this week! Lol So, I apologize if you were waiting for it.
This weekend, we escaped and spent time with family and did a little shopping. I'm glad the weather worked out in our favor because now it's raining. My kids are looking at the wolves from ZooMontana. This week kicks off re-write season for me. I have five books to get through and some of them are longer than the others. I usually do them during the summer since they don't take me as long, allowing me to spend time with my kids more, but I needed to get a jump start this year.
2022 releases will be getting teasers for the next several months! So be on the look out.
That's all for me this week.
Have a wonderful week.
See you on Friday!
What a way to kick start the second to last week of April. It was beautiful and warm last yesterday and now we were dumped on by a bunch of wet snow. That's okay. I keep saying, "We need the moisture" which we do.
It kept me home from my usual morning walk to shovel instead. At least it's a good workout too considering how heavy some of it is.
Now, I'm gearing up for a week of writing like usual. I plan on finishing my current WIP by Friday. This book will be the last one to come out next year and everyone, I flove this book! It's taken seven months to fully figure out and finally I see the light at the end of this brooding police officer and corky librarian. I kind of have a title worked out but I'm not sure so I won't be sharing it yet.
Next week will kick start my rewrites. Usually, I spend the three months of summer doing those since they don't take me nearly as long to do as rough drafts and allowing me to spend more time with my kids and doing fun things, but I have five books to do this summer and need to get going a month early.
This past weekend I had my first craft show since November 2019! It was great to be out again and connecting with local readers. I can't wait to do another, which might be in a couple of weeks and then there's the Wild Deadwood Reads signing coming up on June 19th. I can't wait to be there again.
Well, that's all for me this week! Stay tuned in on Friday for April's What Brooke Read!
Have a great week!
