Out of all the pictures I took, this is the closest to coming out decent. Hindsight, I should have went out to my parents' where I could have set up my tripod and not had power lines in the way.
Where you able to see it? From what I heard, my region was one of the best places to see it. I'm entering the home stretch with getting rough drafts done for the year. This time next week, I'll have this book wrapped up and turn my focus to second drafts. There was a change come up last week and I've had another book added to my roster for this year. I can't tell you what yet, but I hope you'll be excited about it when I can share! I spent the weekend gardening and transplanting flowers with the help of my youngest. That's about all I have for you today. Have a great week! x Brooke

I'm in the home stretch now! I have one final book to work on before my kids are let out for the summer and 2023 re-writes will be upon me. My final book for this school year is the third Long Claw Pride book. The second one will be coming out next year. I'm hoping it will only take me a couple of weeks mainly due to the fact that the first second draft I'll be working on for next year is so long and it needs a lot of work done to it.
I hope your Mother's Day was a nice one. We had dinner with my parents and not much else other than getting the garden ready for planting. I know, I'm getting a late start, but we are just now starting to come out of winter. That's all I have for your this week. Have a great one! x Brooke I hope your weekend was a good one.
I'm entering the final stretch with my second-to-last manuscript for the school year. It's too difficult to write something new with my kids home 24/7 so I focus on second drafts for my books coming out next year. I have one more story to get out of my head before then. In the meantime, I'm dreaming about mountain adventures for this summer including a wedding that'll be a blast. I don't have much to share with you this week. I hope you have a great one! x Brooke Happy Friday and second-to-last day of April! Just like most of this year, where did the time go?
Unlike last month, I actually got a wider array of books read. So, let's get started. I started April finishing up the most recent of the Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Now I'm in for the long wait to December for the last book. Goodreads Amazon Next came the newest from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, Wall Men Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble I got caught up on the latest two Rogue Enforcers, first Blaze by BE Kelly Goodreads Amazon Second, Dyson by Acacia Malone Goodreads Amazon Surrender of the Brutal King by Eliza Raine Goodreads Amazon Healing her Cowboy by Kay Stockham Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble I returned to the Omegaverse with Bronn by Callie Rhodes Goodreads Amazon Bad Timing by Kristie Leigh Goodreads Amazon Cruel Lies by Faith Summers and Khardine Grey Goodreads Amazon Ghost by Daphne Loveling Goodreads Amazon Take Me Again by Carly Phillips Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Dukes of Ruin by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue Goodreads Amazon Lawless Deception by Imogen Wells Goodreads Amazon Hosed by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti Goodreads Amazon That's all folks! I hope you find something that intrigues you from this list. Have a great day! x Brooke Like most of the time, my mind is always engulfed with ideas of plots and in the company of characters. Right now, there's a book I've been dreaming about writing and finally getting it down on virtual paper. I'm not sure how long this book will be or even where it's completely going yet. I haven't felt like this since writing Scorching Hot Mess.
This weekend, we avoided a snowstorm that hit the rest of the state allowing me to get to celebrate one of my best friend's upcoming delivery of her first baby while reading. I'll be back on Friday with What Brooke Read. Have a great week. x Brooke Snow isn't entirely out of our forecast just yet, but with a beautiful morning like today, it feels like spring is officially in the air. I'm working away on my second to last rough draft for the school year. I know I've stated this in the past, but summers are reserved for second drafts and summer fun with my kids.
I don't have a whole lot to share today. Hope you have a wonderful week. x Brooke Spring might be appearing everywhere else, but hasn't yet truly showed up here in the 307. As much as I'm okay with the extra moisture to help protect us from fires this summer, hopefully, I'm ready to go exploring with my boys.
For now, I'm bundled up inside since I'm always cold and working on yet another story. I have this one and one more I would like to get in rough drafts before school ends for the summer. This new story is a standalone I've been daydreaming about for awhile now. Then it'll be the third Long Claw Pride story since the second comes out next year. I hope you have a wonderful week and if you celebrate Easter, a blessed one, otherwise have an awesome weekend! x Brooke What a way to start out the week with a sick kid? We aren't sure what caused it, but we were up pretty much all night and now I finally have him resting. I'll be taking a nap just as soon as get my writing for the day done.
This weekend was full of 4H activities including me sitting out at the rifle range admiring the scenery. I don't have much more to share this week. Have a wonderful one. x Brooke I messed up last week. The weather was so nice and I got sidetracked mainly by an incredible series I've been reading. This week marks spring break for my kiddos and they're already driving me crazy. We never do anything because my husband and I still have to work and I have always felt this week is just a waste even when I was in school as well. Our days will consist of walks, me writing, and breaking up arguments. Now, onto the What Brooke Read section of this post. It might not look like I read much this week, but I'm only showing the covers to the first book in the series I read. And those are Darkmore Penitentiary and Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. These two authors have me in at somewhat of an obsession over their work and where I've been the majority of the month.
Let's start with the Darkmore Penitentiary books. They are a dark reverse harem which I've been craving lately and not a finished series with one big cliffy at the end of book three. You've been warned. I can't wait for the next book to come. Goodreads Amazon Next came Savage Hate by Amanda Richardson. Another dark reverse harem. I couldn't get into this book like I have with others, but it might be right up your alley. Goodreads Amazon Burned by Greta Rose West is a cowboy romance and set in Wyoming. Now, I have issues with books set in my home state and it was the same with this one. I guess I'm super picky, but maybe you'll like it. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble F*ck it by C.M. Owens and S.M. Shade was a bittersweet book and I'm sure you can guess why. It was a delight to read, fast, and a ton of fun even though I cried at the beginning. Goodreads Amazon Next came Wildfire by Chelle Bliss. I enjoy her books, but this one didn't quite hit the mark for me. I'm not sure what it was and still can't figure it out. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Last, but certainly not least is the series I'm currently obsessing over and almost done with. I flove these books and there's still one more to come later this year. Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti is incredible even though the books are super long. I can't wait to see what happens. Goodreads Amazon And that's it, folks. I hope you find something great to read as well as have a wonderful week. x Brooke For the past couple of weekends, when I have the house to myself, I've been working in our hallway closet to get all copies of my books in order. We have a small house and I can only keep so many copies of my books in stock. I have one more arriving today. Thanks Zon for shipping my last order in seven separate packages when they came from the same place. My hope is to someday completely fill this shallow hall closet. Right now, below all my books is filled with two shelves of historical books.
Today is my birthday and I'm celebrating it by going to lunch with my best friend and having pizza with my family tonight as well as working away on one of my 2025 books. This story is shaping up to be something more than I originally thought it would. I don't have much more to share with you today. I hope you have a wonderful week. x Brooke |
