After taking the past two weeks off from doing pretty much anything related to writing so I could be present with spending time with my kids while they were on winter break, I'm back at it today with a brand-new series idea! I'll give you a hint ... grizzly shifters! Okay, maybe two. I've been looking for a true-blue mountain man romance. While there are plenty of great books out there, they don't meet my definition of mountain man. I'm talking alone in the woods, living completely off the land with little to no contact with people, and the works like that. Well, I'm doing it with this book.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (or holiday you celebrate) along with a fun New Year. We took a drive up the mountain so I could snap some new pictures and play around with a glass orb I got for Christmas. With that, I hope you have a great one! x Brooke

Have a Happy New Year! x Brooke It went from December 1st to the 18th like the buck you've been hunting all season just heard the twig snap!
Am I ready for this coming weekend? Sure, as much as a not so merry person like myself can be. I am a little disappointed there isn't much snow yet. I know, don't shoot me for those who are remembering last year when we were already drifting and shoveling every single morning. I miss those mornings. I strangely like to shovel, especially when I can play with my dog while doing so. She loves catching snow. This week is filled with a mountain man presentation with my dad for my youngest, a Christmas concert, and party where I have to bring chocolate covered pretzels I still need to make. I'm also going to attempt to write throughout the week. Last week I release book #34 and hope everyone is finding Seraphina a small dose of the happy for this holiday season. Like all my cupids, she was a hoot to write. Three more to go in this series! If you're subscribed to my newsletter, this Wednesday will be a special one! I'll be announcing my 2024 books there first and sometime next week I'll be announcing them to the rest. So make sure you're subscribed. There won't be a blog post next Monday since it's Christmas, but I'll be back next Friday with what I read as well as my top books from each month of this year. Have a great one! x Brooke I'm back at it giving this book another try. One that I want to write so badly but have no clue what I was going to do to keep it going. Okay, I should say I had because now I do and going in full steam ahead.
So, while I'm wandering through the murky ponds of this story to give it life, another will be coming out this week. My fourth Heartstrings book, Seraphina will be coming to kindles near you on Thursday! And boy, is she in for an adventure. I'm going to start working away. Have a great week! x Brooke That does not mean I'm staying inside. As much as I want to, but adult life am I right?
Errands this morning, some writing, doing my best friend's hair, and then more errands before school pick-up has my Monday full. I'm getting closer to the home stretch with my current WIP as well as Seraphina coming out in 10 days!!! There isn't much else to share this week. As always, I hope you have a great one. x Brooke Here I am again bringing you what books I've read for November and hoping that you find something that sparks your own interest! So here we go!
With This Woman by Jodi Ellen Malpas Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros - favorite of the month! Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble The Harvest Bride by Kati Wilde Goodreads Amazon Court of Nightmares by K.A. Knight Goodreads Amazon Fallen Prince by Julia Sykes Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Stepbrothers' Darling by K.A. Knight Goodreads Amazon The Anti-Hero by Sara Cate Goodreads Amazon The Devil by Ashley Jade Goodreads Amazon Lords of Darkness by Amanda Richardson Goodreads Amazon There you have it. As always, happy reading! x Brooke This is definitely one of the Monday-est of Mondays. After four days off, I'm catching up on things; laundry, emails, and of course, writing. I took my computer while we were having Thanksgiving fun, but only got on it long enough to order a couple of things and then was off again. This week sees me starting at nearly the halfway point for the manuscript I'm currently working on and ideas flooding with another. Yeah, it's going to be fun keeping my thoughts straight for the next couple of days.
Since I missed it Friday, I'll be releasing What Brooke Read this coming, so be on the look out. Have a great one! x Brooke Because last I checked, it was still the beginning of November.
I swear, the older I get, the faster each year seems to slip right through my fingers. All the books I want to read. The ones I want to write and publish for the world, sometimes I wonder if I'll ever have enough time to share them all. Pictures still to take, like getting a spring one of the image above and of my children. The exploring I want to do and the peace I want to find are what consumes me most of my free time. I don't have much to share with you this week other than moving onto a different book really helped out my slump. 18K words into this story and I feel great about it! I hope you have a great week. x Brooke Okay, I'm going to be honest, I gave up on my free-for-all book especially considering I already have a sort of rough draft of the book done. I wanted to do something different but couldn't for the life of me change that direction.
Instead, I decided I'll use what I have and when I do second drafts and my own edits, I'll make my changes then. With that set in my mind, I moved onto my next book and watching my favorite anime while doing it. This book will include a certain old lady I introduced earlier this year and will make more of an impact in future books. This week, I had hoped to read more. I'm currently trying to devour both Princes of Ash by Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. It's really difficult trying to read both when you can't put either down, but on top of that, we have a mouse family. So, it was taking apart the house and cleaning all weekend and then finding out we got momma but there are still babies running around. Ugh. So, needless to say, I haven't accomplished anything over the weekend except maybe a couple of chapters of both books. I plan on writing today, but first, I'm going to go check on my dad. He had surgery this morning and haven't heard back yet. Have a great week! x Brooke Chaos.
That's about the only word I have for this work in progress. And that's okay. At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself of. I'm usually a woman with a plan, but this book isn't working out like that. I'm going off completely random with this book and doing my best to tell myself it's okay, that's exactly how I wrote My Cowboy. I don't have much to share this week, so I'm going to leave you on this. Have a great week. x Brooke |
