One weekend on the mountain is never enough. In my ideal world, I would be living up there no matter the time of year and just be around nature all the time. I would fish in the early mornings and watch elk in the evenings.
But until that happens, because I can dream and manifest all I want, weekends are what I get. This past weekend, the husband, one of our kids, and I took a drive to see the results to the Elk Fire from last year. The image above is taken over by an area called Freeze Out and I saw rocks I had never seen through the trees before unless you walked to find them. I'd like to say I'm getting used to seeing it all, but I don't think I will. In 2007, another part of our mountain was on fire and almost 20 years later, it isn't growing many trees to replace what was destroyed. The mountain myself and so many others love is still there just looks different now. I'm going to be busy this week. Edits just came in for my next book, I'm still trying to fix another book to make it more me, and I have a lot of packing and planning to get ready for the Cody Romance Round-Up this coming weekend. If you're around or near the area and want to find some new reads, definitely come over to the Chamberlian in Cody, WY from 1 to 5 pm to check all the incredible authors out. I hope you have a great week! x Brooke
