Happy second-to-last day of 2024! This year, like all the past ones, has flown by. Books written, published, and a lot more read! I'm going to jump back through the year to showcase each of my favorite reads for a month, but first, you get December's wrap up! Paved in Blood by Sonja Grey Goodreads Amazon Boys of Briar Hall by Elena Lawson Goodreads Amazon V by M.S. Gorza Goodreads Amazon Kings of Kilborn University by Elena Lawson Goodreads Amazon Rosenfeld by Maya Kessler Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Chestnut Springs Series by Elsie Silver Goodreads Amazon Indecent Demands by Marlee Wray Goodreads Amazon Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry Goodreads Amazon How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble And NOW is my yearly wrap up! From all the books I read this year, this is a breakdown of my favorite books or series each month.
January belongs to Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and Vampires, Whiskey, and Southern Charm. It was fun, fast-paced, and original in true Mimi Jean style! Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble February I finally finished A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, but A Court of Silver Flames was my favorite. I love a grouchy female and a goofy but still serious man willing to break through her walls. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble March belongs to the Brutal Boys of SIN series by Leila James. I read most of the series then, but had to wait for Wilder and he was worth it. Goodreads Amazon April saw the wrap-up for the Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti with Restless Stars. This series takes you on one hell of a ride and it's so worth it! Goodreads Amazon May I went out on a limb to give Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver a go and so glad I did. Even if I still can't look at ice cream the same. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble June is another series. The Bonds that Tie by J. Bree. 6 books all steamy and amazing! I love me a good reverse harem and that's what you get with this series. Goodreads Amazon July Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue's creation of the Royals of Forsyth University are chef's kiss perfection and the Princes of Legacy was a great July read. I flove this series so much! Goodreads Amazon August I invested in the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This series works well to mix read with Flesh and Fire even if it does give a few things away. I really enjoyed Poppy and Casteel. I can't wait to see what The Primal of Blood and Bone has in store for us. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble September came Bride by Ali Hazelwood. Now, I'm going to be honest with you, if you're still with me this far, I started this and put it down. I didn't really like the beginning but gave it another try because that seems to be my MO this year, I'm looking at you ACOTAR and ended up liking it. Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble October I finally read Quicksilver. This, of course, was before I knew Callie Hart was picked up by a publisher and now have to wait for the second book. But I loved it. Though, the name Kingfisher has the bird popping into my mind at times instead of a handsome broody male. Goodreads Amazon November I started a series I plan on finishing this coming year. The Demon Court by Emma Hamm. It focuses on the seven sins which I love. Goodreads Amazon Last but not least is a book I spent all weekend devouring which hasn't happened in a long time. Reckless by Elsie Silver. It's part of the Chestnut Springs series and so good. I thought it would be my least favorite (still reading the final book) but I loved it so much. Goodreads Amazon There's my 2024 for you. As always, I hope you find something to read and become obsessed with. Have a Happy New Year! x Brooke

This week, while Christmas is smack dab in the middle, is still just a normal work week just add in the factor my children are home with me.
Shopping is done. Presents are all wrapped. Cookies are baked. Now all is left is to sit back and enjoy time with my family and watch my husband smoke our prime rib dinner. I'm still trying to figure out this final werewolf book but think I'm overthinking it. Either way, I'm diving in for the week. Also, ARC copies of my next book are now available through BookFunnel. It's a dark menage romance. Click HERE Have a wonderful time with your loved ones. x Brooke Last week, while working away on one of the Powder River Pack books, I decided I needed to start over. Wrote out a new outline and all that. Well ... guess what? I decided to stick with what I was already working on. I just needed to go back and fix a couple chapters. It's a good thing I'm so far ahead in writing that I'm not pressed for time. This weekend, I did my final craft show of the year. Got judgmental looks from older ladies, met some new readers, and sold some books. It was a great event I hope to do again next year. Most presents are wrapped now and my shopping is complete except for one thing that hasn't arrived yet. Now, back to this werewolf and his female's road to redemption. Until next week! x Brooke The chilly winds are beginning to stir, circling in small cyclones of frost, and dancing their way across the landscape of the north. While it looks like the snow that fell last week is starting to melt, the chill is still there.
This week, I'm working away on the second to last Powder River Pack book which has been a headache even before starting to write it. Thankfully, I figured it out and now the words are flying. This coming weekend, I will be at the Ramada in Sheridan, Wyoming for the Country Christmas Craft Show. I will be set up between the business suite and front desk with all my books (maybe a bonus one) and some of my photography. If you're from the area, please come see me. I hope you have a great week. x Brooke |
