61 Days until the first annual Mountain West Book Fest is taking place in Sheridan, Wyoming! We are working away getting everything ready and cannot wait to see the readers and authors who come to join us! It is our hope that readers will find new authors to follow, authors will connect with others, and that this event is successful enough to merit it happening every year!
In my own author work, this week I am finishing up the final Code of Honor book. I hit a hiccup last week which has now put me behind schedule. And if my sudden need for afternoon naps can finally be dealt with, I should be able to finish today or tomorrow.

With the past two weeks now in the rearview and hopefully my body and mind are on the mend, I'm charging into this week with the encouragement to get my second to last book for 2027 almost completely done. The final Code of Honor book is almost to the halfway point. I reached a point that past Brooke clearly said was a future Brooke problem. No one talks about when you finally become that future version of yourself and feel slightly overwhelmed with what you have to fix that you were honestly too damn lazy to fix in the first place.
Note to self and all, just get it done.
Once I have this book complete by likely the beginning of next week, I have one final one to work on for next year which is the second to last Long Claw Pride book.
We've been busy for the past couple of weeks with other things that have kept us from enjoying the mountain, so hopefully after we patch the leak in our camper we can go back up and just recharge.

Be ready to head back to Elk Field, Wyoming starting tomorrow! And just in time for my hometown's big annual rodeo which is part of the inspiration behind this entire series.
Last year, you got Shooter and Trinity and now it's his twin's turn! Ashlynn's story takes place the same exact time as Shooter's so you might see some crossover. And as of last week, I was wrapping up Braxton's story which will be out in a year and takes place at the same time as well. Yes, I have a habit of doing that.
I tried not doing the whole famous thing, like Trinity was actually originally an actress Shooter was hired to teach to be a cowgirl, but I wanted a hometown feel. Clayton is famous and he just so happened to have left behind heartbreak.
This story is about second chances which I absolutely love.
