Howdy! Boy, did I have a reading frenzy of a week. I read FIVE books this week!
All are short shifter romances by Celia Kyle and Marina Maddix. Let's get started with the first one, which is actually the third in the series, Real Men Growl.
He expected gratitude, but what he got was a gorgeous she-wolf who defied him at every turn.
For six torturous years, Omega Rachel Fields did what she could to protect her packmates from the evil Riverson werewolves. She endured living side-by-side with the men who murdered her uncle and seized his pack — all while raising her orphaned nephew as her own son. Now that their reign of terror is over, Rachel is determined to live life on her own terms. Screw joining another pack! And she doesn’t give a rat’s hiney who it pisses off.
Gavin Blackwood has one job: Redistribute the survivors of the Riversons to healthy packs. There’s only one problem — and she just happens to be the old pack’s sexy-as-sin Omega, not to mention the most stubborn she-wolf he’s ever met. Oh, and if his wolf’s sniffer is right, his mate!
Even though he’s an Enforcer, Gavin knows brute force won’t change Rachel’s mind. As eager as he is to get her curves into his bed, he’ll have to tread carefully to convince her that she and her young ward would be safer on Blackwood lands. But will they be? Someone from her past has other ideas.
The next book is Real Men Howl, all about the Blackwood pack healer finding his mate in another pack who kidnaps him!
Who knew getting kidnapped could be so fun?
Dr. Drew Cooper would rather die than give in to his captor's demands. Only a suicidal idiot would kidnap the Blackwood pack healer in the first place, but to then insist he heal one of the rival pack's members? Yeah, hard pass.
Until she walks into the room. With fiery red hair, piercing blue eyes and curves that could stop traffic, Chloe Soren takes his breath away.
Drew agrees to help so he can have time to convince Chloe they're fated mates, despite her reservations. There's only one problem--the alpha who snatched him just happens to be Chloe's over-protective big brother. And the patient he's expected to heal? Their dying mother.
Shit just got real.
The next book, Real Men Bite, is all about another alpha, this time of the Soren Pack, finding his mate in his sister's best friend and Army Captain.
His wolf wants her to submit. She wants him to heel.
After years of kicking ass in the Army, Captain Valerie Logan needs a break. And she can’t think of a better place for some R&R than her best friend’s small mountain hometown. Except her sister from another mister no longer lives in Tremble, Georgia. Who does? Her BFF’s frustrating, domineering, sex-on-two-legs older brother.
Zeke Soren is a born alpha—when he growls, his werewolf pack listens. Unfortunately, there’s one beautiful, bad-ass, human female who refuses to follow a single order. He’s already dealing with humans infringing on pack territory. He doesn’t need one invading his life—no matter what his wolf thinks.
The only problem is that Val is everything he’s ever wanted in an alpha female—strong, fierce, sexy, and his. He’ll just have to turn her into a werewolf. No big deal, right? Unless he’s wrong about her being his fated mate and he kills her instead.
Two left, this one is Real Men Claim where the Soren Pack healer finds her wild mate.
He lost it all… and then he found her.
Fate hasn’t been kind to Trina Edgecomb. When her fated mate died on their honeymoon, she was left to face a long and bleak life utterly alone. Of course, as the healer to a very rambunctious wolf pack, she’s never truly alone, but nothing will ever ease her crushing solitude.
Rogue wolf Max Kincaid has only one purpose: To bring down the developer who destroyed his pack and his life. He’s tracked the man to the small town of Tremble, Georgia, and he’s just waiting for his moment to strike. Except, before he can fulfill his destiny, he’s ambushed in the woods and left to die.
When Trina finds Max on death’s doorstep, a spark she thought was long dead stirs to life and she realizes that she’s somehow found her fated mate. How was it even possible to have two in a lifetime? But the bigger question is whether a rogue wolf can integrate into an established pack. That’s assuming the Soren pack alpha won’t banish him on sight.
The last book of this series is Real Men Hunt. Beta Warren finds his mate in a woman trying her best to protect his homeland from a condo developer.
She's willing to sacrifice anything to save Wolf Woods from developers--including love. He refuses to let her.
Persia has dedicated her life to saving the planet from greedy construction companies, even if that meant she lost out on a life filled with laughter, love, and passion. Considering she's generally surrounded by losers, potheads, and slackers, it's not such a big loss. Then she meets Warren--a tall, muscular hunk of hottie she wants to climb like the trees she's trying to save.
Werewolf Warren Edgecomb lost out on love once and never imagined he'd find a woman for him. Then he stumbles across Persia and he knows the gorgeous female is his. Every curvaceous, delicious, tempting inch of her. The only problem? She's human and can't sense their shifter mate-bond. Plus there's the fact that she likes his wolf better than him.
Warren's only chance of winning over the delectable Persia is to join her protest. Since they both want to bring down the developer attempting to steal his pack's lands, it seems like a match made in heaven. Until he learns a secret that rocks his faith in his instincts--and in Persia.
All of these books are available on Kindle Unlimited and nice, short reads if you just need a taste of shifter romance to take the edge off of a craving.
